Edward POV

"Jacob." His name was a paniced breath on her lips.
"Hello." He smiled at her. "What a surprise. To see 你 with another guy...already." His voice dripped with sarcasem.
"He's workin for Charlie. We were just dancin." She told him quickly.
"Bella." I stopped her.
"You don't have to explain yourself to him." I eyed him down.
His eyes narrowed at me, but I wasn't intimidated.
"And who are you?" He asked.
"Edward Cullen." I didn't give him my hand. "And Bella and I were just goin to sit down." I put my hand on her lower back and started to lead her away when he grabbed her arm.
"You don't speak for her." He growled.
"Jacob. Ow." Bella hissed.
"Let her go." Red was starting to fill my vision from the outside in.
"Or what?" He challenged.
"Jacob." Bella cried. "You're hurtin me."
"Yeah, well, it wouldn't be the first time." He rolled his eyes at her.
What the hell did that mean?
"Get your damn hands off of her." I stepped up to him.
Bella was despretly trying to pry his fingers from around her wrist.
His eyes stayed glued to mine for what felt like a lifetime before he let her go and threw her at me. I caught her and pulled her against me.
"There?" He sneered. "I wasn't goin to do nothin to the whore anyway."
Jacob was holding his jaw, moving it around with a smirk on his face. I had punched him, and I didn't even relize it. Bella was nolonger in my arms but it a fuming Emmett's.
"Lucky hit." He shrugged it off. "I can tell 你 both...that this won't be the last time 你 see me. Bella was mine from the start and will be mine til the end." He straighted out his 夹克 and dissapeared into the crowed.
I turned around despret for Bella. I walked over to her and looked at her wrist. A red mark was already starting to form. "Are 你 okay?" I asked her.
She nodded. "Are you? How's your hand? Did 你 hurt it?"
"No." I clenched and unclenched my fingers. "I didn't even relize I hit him until after."
"Yeah well, he's lucky it wasn't me because I wouldn've only 给 him one to go 首页 with." Emmett spoke up.
"And that's why I'm glad 你 didn'." Jasper told him. "Because I haven't gotten my chance at him."
Alice was rubbing his arm loving and camly, looking between everyone as they spoke.
"Don't worry, Bells." Rose hugged her close. "We aren't through with him. Now, let's go home."
Rose passed her to me with a smirk and a wink and I took Bella under my arm.
The ride 首页 was quiet expcept for Alice's snoring. Yes...Alice was snoring.
Bella was still holding onto my shirt, staring blankly into space, only blinking every now and then.
When we reached the house everyone piled out and went into their rooms. Alice was staying with Jasper and Rose was staying in a guestroom beside Emmett...yeah right. Bella finally let go and went into her room without a word. I changed into a pair of gray sweats and tore off my t-shirt. I heard Bella turn on the 淋浴 so I leaned in the doorway and listened to her cry. Not just cry but sob. It hurt to listen to her. I rubbed my hand over my chest, hoping to rub away the pain. It didn't leave. The water turned off and she got quiet. I stayed, listing to her bustle around her room, opening and closing drawers. I put my head on the facing and closed my eyes waiting for her to still but the door flew open to the 淋浴 and I opened my eyes. Her brown eyes where red, so was her nose. Her face was splachy and her cheeks were tear stained, but even like that and in fleece pants and a t-shirt, she looked as good as she did earlier tonight.
And as I saw her standing there, I did the only thing I knew I could. I opened my arms and she flew into them.
I held her tight to me, one arm around her waist, the other on the back of her head while she cried onto my bare chest.
"Come on." I picked her up and we laid on her bed. "Now, tell me what's up."
"I just keep thinkin about what he said." She sniffed and grabbed a tissue, wiping her eyes.
"Me too." I furrowed my eyebrows. "Bella, when he 说 'it wouldn't be the first time', talking about hurting you, what did he mean."
She stiffened. "It's nothing."
"Bella, it's something. Tell me." She didn't. "Bella?" The 更多 I thought about it, the 更多 it made sence. "Bella did he hit you?" I sat up on my elbows.
She sighed. "It was only a few times. And it was my fault."
I grabbed her cheeks, giving her 鱼 lips. "If I hear 你 say it was your fault again I swear to God." I let her go. "How many times is a couple of times?"
"The end of our relationship. He had just started a new position at work and I thought it was just from bein stressed out. I thought it would pass."
"Nothin gives him an excuse. Nothing. He hit you. And that's not okay. How long did it go on?"
"About six months. And it wasn't like he broke 识骨寻踪 或者 nothin."
"Why didn't 你 tell anyone and what exactly did he do?"
"Like I said, I thought it would pass. He slapped me a few times, and would push me around. but...never mind." She shook her head.
"Bella, tell me." I told her sternly.
"There was a couple times...that he...he um..oh my god this is so embarrassin." She hid her face with a pillow.
"Just tell me." I pulled it away from her face.
"HemademehavesexwhenItoldhimno."
"What?"
She sighed. "He made me have sex when I told him no."
I sat straight up. "Bella, that's rape."
"Shh." She sat up. "Please don't tell anyone."
"I'm not goin to, but Bella 你 gotta' tell the police 或者 somethin'."
"I cain't." She shook her head. "Not right now at least. 你 are the only person I have told. I'll do it eventually, but...I just cain't do it right now." She laid back down and so did I. She curled up into my side. I laid there listening to her breathing and stairing up at the ceiling.
I can't believe Jacob hit her...and raped her. I wanted to kill him for doing something like that to Bella. And I prayed for the 下一个 girl he found to victimize.
When her breathing slowed I got up and pulled the covers over her, then dissapeared into my room. I crawled into 床, 床上 myself and groaned when my phone rang, making the mistake of answering before checking who was calling.
"Hello?"
"Edward?"
"Lauren..." I sat up. "Why did 你 call?"
"I just wanted to say hello and to see how 你 were doing."
"Stop with the shit, Lauren. What do 你 want?"
She sighed. "I want you."
I chuckled darkly. "What do 你 want from me? Are 你 tryin to bring back the tears 或者 just the memories? 你 keep takin me back where I’ve already been and when we hang up it’s almost like I’m losing 你 again. So, what do 你 want from me?"
"Edward." She poutned on the other end.
"What do 你 want me to say? That I’m content? That I’m on the fence? That I wish 你 would’ve stayed?" I ran my hand through my hair.
"Maybe."
"Because I don't. I'm so tired of living like this. I don't have the time. I've finally found something and someone to keep my mind off of you."
There was a pause. "You've replaced me."
"Lauren...no one can replace you. 你 are to much of a heartless, self centered, attention whore, sad excuse of a person to be replaced. No one is as bad as 你 are."
"Edward." She cried.
"You did this to yourself. Don't call me again. Goodbye, Lauren." I hung up then phone and ran my hands through my hair. I laid back on my bed, shoving my palms into my eyes, to try and stop the tears. Despite my efforts, tears seaped through and soaked my hair and pillow.
I sat up and threw the covers off my, standing up on the cold hardwood. I picked up my phone and threw it across the room, tugginf at the hair on the back of my head. I shouldn't let her get to me like this. Lauren isn't worth my pain. I heard the bathroom door open, then two tiny arms wrapped around my waist.
I wrapped mine around her and cried into her hair. Now, it ws Bella's turn to help me. She led me over to the 床, 床上 and laid us down. I laid my head on her stomach while she ran her hand threw my hair soothinly.
"She does it on purpose Edward. She wants 你 to fill this. And you're letting her win." She wispered. "But I'm here."
And she was. All night.
