Does anyone know what does the red 花 on the cover of new moon book mean?

The 花 for New Moon is a ruffled tulip. It represents Bella, and how she wilts, but does not die in the experience in New Moon. It is meant to 显示 strenghth, and beauty. The red parts are meant to symbolise her blood, where she smashes the bowl the 花 were in. It was a turning point.(:

Since this is the one and only cover that Stephenie didn't have a hand in... no one knows. It just looks pretty.
