Hard to answer for me. I loved Catt in s1, but I didn't in s2. I loved Forwood in s2 but I really dislike them in s3. I think Caroline had a better build up with Tyler but she had a better relationship with Matt. So overall I prefer Catt.

=[ I don't understand the lack of appreciation for Catt. It's baffling to me how people seem to forget how in love they were & how much she truly wanted to be with him for basically 2 whole seasons... Even with Tyler coming on to her, making it obvious that he was interested in her as well, Caroline still got up on stage in front of all her friends, classmates & people of Mystic Falls, and sang her heart out to Matt in order to show him how much she cared about him!

How can people just brush that aside and act like Matt wasn't a huge part of her life??

-He was her first love! {and please, please do not try and tell me Tyler is her first love!} There is literally no question about it - MATT was the first guy she loved. He was her first serious relationship and it has had a lasting impact on her no doubts about it.

-He made her a better person. When we were first introduced to Caroline, she was sort of... bitchy, and clearly a bit shallow. Don't get me wrong, I've loved Caroline Forbes from the moment i started watching TVD & she is now my #1 female character ♥ BUT there is no denying that she had some growing up to do - and Matt played a big part in helping her to do so. He carried her home after she got drunk at the Grill and didn't leave her when she told him she didn't want to be alone. From that point on, they just gradually grew in to something more and we could see Caroline slowly becoming a little deeper than before.

They have a truly wonderful friendship. Despite the fact that he was unable to keep dating Caroline after finding out she was a vampire and trying to process it, and then having to see her & Tyler and being obviously hurt by them getting together - Matt has continued to be there for Caroline, to support her decisions, to help her when she's hurt [like after Tyler fucking bit her.] and to comfort her when she's upset.

I don't care what ANYONE says. Matt is by far the better guy for Caroline and he always will be.

Caroline is a very shippable character and I also ship her with Klaus, and don't mind her with Tyler,
But my heart will always belong to Catt!!! <333

I'm just voicing how sad it is to me to see such lack of appreciation for one of my favorite couples.
