It's interesting and it would've been more interesting if Bloom's home planet, her parents, and the entire population of the planet had stayed dread because it would've shown a connection between the two and how two people can take different paths from the same tragedy, assuming Icy wasn't the one to destroy it. I don't watch Winx Club unless it's 4Kids (The voices in the other dubs just irk me and sound too interchangeable and indistinguishable), which only did the first three seasons, which people say are the only good seasons. But this is an interesting idea. At least now the 4Kids dub isn't the only one to actually bother giving The Trix (Or in this case Icy) a backstory of where they come from. And is this show STILL going on? What? Is it trying to compete with Spongebob Squarepants as the most drawn-out cash cow show?

Idk exactly the nature behind this backstory (as I've only found this particular episode in Italian) but I'm just glad that she has a backstory. I've only been bitching for them to give her one since 2005ish. From what I heard she has...had an older sister and that the reason she wanted the dragon fire is so that she can bring her planet back to life. From the sound of it, her planet is still dead, unlike Sparks/Domino.

But I'm with you on the tragedy thing. She and Bloom come from similar stories and handled the trauma of being the last survivors very differently. Idk if Bloom even knows that Icy lost her planet. So that'll be interesting.

EDIT: This also explains her desire to take over the world. She lost the throne she had a birthright to, so she's going after other planets to make up for that.

I'm glad that they are finally giving a background story to her.

Same; because if that I'm not really picky about it sonlong as they give her some depth. Though a lot of people seem to not like it and apparently there are some continuity errors with it.
