You mentioned in another pick I think about how Pam had changed so much - I think this is a perfect example. It's just unnecessary to be passive aggressive like that. The pompous attitude was obnoxious.
But at the same time it's rude to leave a giant mess in a shared space, so...
Um definitely the mess... I think it's good that Pam has changed a bit. It's realistic and healthy for her, it's not ok for someone to leave a mess like that. I HATE it when people leave a mess behind and expect the person that comes behind them to clean it up, it's like treating that person like a maid. It's not ok.
And there is no reason why Pam should clean it herself, she had to make a point, and maybe she didn't have the courage yet to tell people what she thought, she is gradually getting that courage but it's not overnight.
People that say they would have just cleaned, or she should have just cleaned it maybe haven't been in that situation. Maybe I feel really strongly about it because this jsut happened to me yesterday haha. But my cousin left a HUGE mess in the kitchen in my house after he ate, he didn't pick up his plate, he just left everything there, and I came home after my morning class to relax and eat and shit so WHY SHOULD I BE THE ONE TO PICK IT UP?? Why should I clean up after him?? I DONT leave MY mess for him to clean up, I do it myself. I'm not his maid. Leaving the mess in both cases is just RUDE and INCONSIDERATE. And the note was fine, someone had to say something.

However, I do agree that this is one thing that my boyfriend and I call Anti-Pam. The Pam of season 2 would never have done that!
But yeah I'd be super mad if I found that nasty mess in my workplace. >:(
