OK so I've just finished Mockingjay last night.
I'm very glad the Capitol has fallen and Katniss has chosen between Gale and Peeta. However we all knew this was going to happen from the moment Katniss produced that handful of Nightlock berries in the first book. This is all predictable.
But why sentence the Mockingjay to a life without the very reason she was in the arena to defy the capitol at all? Why kill the thing Katniss loved most? Of course we all know Katniss avenged her sister's death and lived a free life with Peeta and her two children, but is she ever really happy?
I understand the need for death in a rebellion (especially in the circumstances of Panem). But I think Suzanne Collins crossed a line when she killed Prim, and then made it not only the rebels plan but Gale's own trap that killed her. Surely there was a better way to end that story. I believe Suzanne demoted Katniss. She turned our headstrong, tough, independent fighter into a mental wreck. Is this fair? I don't think it's fair kill the very root of the story. Katniss was a fighter, a surviver, and she did it for Prim.

So when Prim was alive, how did she go crazy? Didn't she start all this because she volenteered for The Hunger Games so Prim didn't have to go?
If Katniss was destined to go crazy, why did it happen BEFORE Prim died? None of it makes sense.

BUT on the other hand. The book had no shortage of action and suspense. I'll admit I spent a whole 日 unable to distract myself from it. I thorouhly enjoyed 阅读 about Katniss's fight to go to the capitol and kill President Snow(even though I was disappointed when she didn't). It showed Katniss wasn't quite out of fight until Prim died.
Perhaps it ended the fight, but why did it need to happen? I understand that President Coin thought if Katniss believed the Capitol had killed her sister; she would be 更多 inclined to support Coin. But did it have to happen?
I have heard that this is how Suzanne writes though, and I know I and shouldn't judge her for it. But over all I think I would rather the story had end happier. Perhaps if it was Katniss's mother who had died. I would accept it. Maybe Katniss would accept it better. But as long as this story ends with this:

When I am adrift and unable to navigate, that's when they come. The dead.

The ones I loved fly as birds in the open sky above me. Soaring, weaving, calling to me to 加入 them. I want so badly to follow them, but the seawater saturates my wings, making it impossible to lift them. The ones I hated have taken to the water, horrible scaled things that tear my salty flesh with needle teeth. Biting again and again. Dragging me beneath the surface.

The small white bird tinged in 粉, 粉色 dives down, buries her claws in my chest, and tries to keep me afloat. "No, Katniss! No! 你 can't go!"
But the ones I hated are winning, and if she clings to me, she'll be 迷失 as well. "Prim, let go!"
And finally she does.

I can never be fully happy with this story.

Thank 你 for taking the time to read my artical and I hope 你 enjoyed 阅读 Mockingjay anyway!

I just don't like crying.
