they have not 给 her one yet :( We are waiting to see if they give her one in season 6 或者 7. any luck she will marry Leonard and be called Penny Hofstadter and reveal her last name :)
In one episode, Penny 说 that her father's first name was "Bob"...in the episode where her father visits, he tells Leonard to call him "Wyatt". Many people go 由 their last names with others...so I do believe that, although they haven't officially 说 so yet, her father's full name is Bob Wyatt...making that her last name too, at least until it becomes Hofstadter. ;)

I have found out Penny's last name! she married Zack in Las Vegas and his last name is Johnson. so penny's last name is Johnson because she married Zack. I found out with help online and the t.v. show so there 你 go Hope this helps!!!!

I think she meant her maiden name not her married name and now she is married to Leaonard not Zack anymore.
If 你 remember the episode where she found out she was married to Zack, she didn't know she was actually married. She thought that the wedding was fake and that they did it just for fun. So, her last name never would have been Johnson because she wouldn't have changed it. When 你 get married, your name doesn't just change. It's a lot of paperwork and a pain in the ass.
Penny's last name is Wyatt! I watched an episode tonight where her father came to visit. Leonard called him Mr. Wyatt!!!

When Leonard got his butt chewed out 由 Penny's father, Leonard called him Mr Wyatt and that he was really trying to win her back. Therefore, her maiden name is the same as her father's last name. I was just as baffled as everyone else and it was right in front of us for I believe for seven seasons.
They will never give Penny a last name because her character is meant to be an archetype, a typical example of a simple, ordinary, mid-western, uncultured girl. Even her backstory is archetypal of the typical, small-town girl who travels to California and has dreams of becoming a movie star. Additionally, her character serves as a contrast, 或者 foil, to the other main characters in the series who all come from important families (hence have family names), live complicated, unorthodox lives and have complex emotional issues.
