Shadow, an Arctic subspecies of the gray wolf, was born May 8, 2000 and is a litter mate to Malik. Shadow joined Malik in the Retired Pack on June 26th, 2010. THE GREY CUB

He was different from his brothers and sisters. Their hair already betrayed the reddish hue inherited from their mother, the she-wolf; while he alone, in this particular, took after his father. He was the one little grey cub of the litter. He had bred true to the straight wolf-stock - in fact, he had bred true to old One Eye himself, physically, with but a single exception, and that was he had two eyes to his father's one.

The grey cub's eyes had not been open long, yet already he could see with steady clearness. And while his eyes were still closed, he had felt, tasted, and smelled....

I am panting as soon as I get away from them. I don't need another attack. I start to get scared and wonder where to turn when I see a 狼 walk up to me. I could recognize her but she hated me. No reliable sighting of a wild Mexican 狼 has been reported since the last five individuals were captured and placed in a captive breeding program in Arizona in 1980. Today, the only known wild Mexican 狼 are found in the United States in limited areas of Arizona and New Mexico, where they were reintroduced.

All I could think about was wether 或者 not I was even going to make it through another 日 without having something 或者 someone attack me. I sit at the opening of the 巢穴, den, 书房 and I look to my left, then quickly over to my right, Once I know the coast is clear I take my first step out
