In my opinion, Romeo and Juliet isn't even a 爱情 story - it's a lust story. They married only after knowing each other a 日 and a half, they were obsessed with each other and their relationship was downright unhealthy. Not to mention Romeo wouldn't have 给 Juliet a 秒 glance if she wasn't pretty; they're only attracted to each other because of their looks. Ever notice how, when Romeo ever spoke to 或者 about Juliet, it was always about how beautiful she was and never about her personality?

The good news is, Shakespeare purposely made it that way. Shakespeare did not think this play was the greatest 爱情 story ever; he was demonstrating what an unhealthy relationship was like. His moral was clear: nothing good can happen when 你 become obsessed with another person. He was trying to make a point with this story.
