At least Alastair never pretended to be anything other than what he was. Ruby on the other hand...she used Sam's weaknesses against him. Manipulated, took advantage, drove a wedge between him and Dean and tried to act like she gave a damn. When all she wanted was to free Lucifer and start the end of the world.
