I'm not here to talk about how Stefan Salvatore loves Elena Gilbert more, 或者 deserves here 更多 than anyone else. I'm here to 显示 你 Stefan and Elena trough my eyes. I'm here to 显示 你 what happens when that moving picture enters my brain trough my eyes and travels to my heart.
Stefan Salvatore, even as a human, was motivated and guided 由 love. Love, happiness, affection, respect, loyalty were some of the feelings that were most distinct about him. He respected his father, loved his brother. And then, he fell in 爱情 with a vampire. Stefan did not know Katherine Pierce is a vampire when he fell in 爱情 with her. He thought he's falling in 爱情 with an angel, not with a devil. When he found out what she is, he had to be compelled 由 her because he couldn't accept the fact she is something his father described as a monster. Even in this early stages of their life, we can see how much Damon's darkness goes deeper than Stefan's. Even as a human, Damon was standing 由 the side, watching Katherine kill innocent people, while Stefan had to be compelled just because he saw her true face. This is later on manifested in their relationship with Elena. When Damon is around her, he can easily snap Alaric's neck without thinking how will it effect Elena. But even after Elena found out Stefan was a vampire, he was afraid to 显示 her his real face. No, he was 更多 ashamed of it. "Don't hide from me", Elena said. This was probably the highlight of Stefan's entire existence, when a woman he loves accepted him not only for who he is, but for what he is.
With Katherine, Stefan was an opposite to who he was when he was around other people. Katherine had that effect on him, on his brother, on a lot of people actually. With Katherine, Stefan was selfish. He didn't care about Damon's happiness, nor did he care about town's safety 或者 what his father would think of him. And his relationship with Elena is quite opposite. The way Elena loved him, the way she treated him, only made him 更多 selfless than he is in his core. 你 can't change people, but people can change because 你 inspire them. I can't say Stefan changed because of Elena, but she upgraded him. Because of who she is, and because of the 爱情 she gave to him, he was able to gather enough strength to walk out, and save his brother's life, no matter what the price is. And here comes the importance of what he 说 to Lexi - "When I'm with her, I completely forget what I am", meaning that when he's with her, he feels 更多 of a human. Elena is able to bring out humanity in him 更多 than anyone else. In one conversation with Katherine, she asked him does with Elena he pretends he's a human, and he replied “I don't have to pretend to be anything when I'm with her. That's the whole point. I get to just be myself", which is another point that makes a difference between his relationship with Katherine and Elena. Like I 说 earlier, when he was with Katherine, he was somebody else, his actions with her undermined everything he stood for, and with Elena he can be who he always was. When he's with Elena, his human comes out to play. Which I believe is why their relationship seemed so real in spite of their circumstances - with her, he was reborn. There was nothing 邪恶力量 about him when he was with her, he was simply living the life he craved so much for during the years.
Katherine's betrayal had a different effects on Stefan and Damon. While Damon was holding on to her 爱情 (and holding on for 145 years), Stefan was successful in convincing himself Katherine never loved him. That was probably the easy way out, so he doesn't have to cope with the pain, and with the thought that the woman he loved didn't 爱情 him back. But Stefan's real journey begins after the incident with his father, when Stefan came to say his last goodbyes, and accidentally killed his father who didn't want to recognize his son in the body of a monster. Addiction Stefan has when it comes to blood is one of the most relatable things when it comes to his character. We're all addicted to something. Some addictions are 更多 serious than others, but we can all understand where every addiction leads. He repressed the hurt of Katherine betraying him, of killing his father and making his brother turn into a vampire and he turned to blood, something that was the easiest turn to since it's a nature of a vampire to drink blood. Stefan is not simply addicted to blood, nothing is that simple. Every addiction is triggered 由 something. Loneliness, pain, fear.. Stefan took everything from a person. Every drop of blood. Maybe taking away everything from a person would make him feel less empty. 或者 maybe he wanted to make someone as empty as he was. Stefan was never a bad person, if he was, it would be easier. "Your 心 is pure, Stefan. I can sense that about you. It will be your curse." And this is quite true. Stefan never blames his nature for his actions. He never accepts his vampirism and uses it as an excuse for what he is and what he's done. Stefan hates himself to the degree where he thinks everything is his fault. He carries his own pain, and he puts everything on his back, even the things that are not his fault. With Elena, it was easier, because he got to share that pain with her. They carried each other. After Damon told Stefan he will leave because of his behavior, Stefan ran into Lexi who reminded him of who he really is. "Love, Stefan. That's the point", something that made Stefan go back on track for the first time. Over the years, Stefan knew how to slip, and Lexi would have to pick him up every time. But this time it was different. Stefan had to be compelled, and he never actually hurt anyone he cared about. He was holding in there, because now, things are different than before. Someone was waiting for him. Elena. Damon. Home.

It was time for them to meet. Because all that time Stefan was doing only one thing, waiting for Elena. Their 爱情 is destined since 1864. And when her body needed saving, her soul called for his.

"We always 说 in the pilot it's a girl who feels dead inside and a boy who is dead inside and how they bring each other back to life." Elena felt lonely, like no one understands her, like she's all alone in the world, until Stefan came into her life. Someone who she felt attracted to and connected with from the moment she bumped into him on the first 日 of the school in front of the man's room.
Now, let's take a look into their journey, before we start talking about why I believe they should be endgame. There is a lot of talk about how Stefan and Elena rushed into a relationship and how they had no build up, which is something I obviously disagree with. People meet, people talk, people go on a date, people enter a relationship - is there something 更多 natural than that? They had a build up, but that build up happened within a relationship. Stefan and Elena grew together, they became partners.
1x01 Pilot
"We have history together", Elena says when they meet in a cemetery. This was probably the best thought, and one of my 最喜爱的 lines from the show. Stefan and Elena really did have history together. Even if we exclude her resemblance to Katherine and the fact he saved her from the car crash, they're two souls finding their way back to each other. Their journey began long before the first episode.
"Or 你 can do is to be ready for the good. So when it comes 你 can invite it in. Because 你 need it. I need it", Elena writes in her diary. In that moment Stefan shows up on her front porch, and Elena invites him in the house. This is the beginning of their story and it's also a very important step in their relationship, because it not only demonstrates that Stefan is the good Elena is waiting for, he is also someone she needs.
1x02 The Night of the Comet
I find Stefan igniting Elena's candle is very symbolic. It's like a metaphor of putting light in her life again.
"You know, that comet has been traveling trough 太空 for thousands of years. All alone. I think it's just a ball of snow and ice trapped on a path it can't escape. Once every 145 he gets to come home."
This is one of the 语录 that describe Stefan very nicely. Although Stefan had Lexi, she was never enough to keep him from his ripper side. She was the person who knew how to help him, but not the person that knew how to make him stay that way. Unlike Elena, because of who Stefan was holding on to while he was out with Klaus.
A ball of snow (Stefan's good, mellow side) and ice (Stefan's bad, rough side) trapped on a path it can't escape (eternity). What I find amusing about this quote is how obvious it is Stefan is talking about the comet, 由 saying it, but in the last sentence he says he gets to come home. He is talking about himself.
It was also the episode where they first kissed. What I also 爱情 about their relationship that it's not always the guy who start things. Most of their relationship Elena is the one who initiates, like their first kiss, first I 爱情 you, first time they slept together. Even now in 3x14 Elena went after Stefan. She is always reaching to him because she needs him in her life one way 或者 another.
"But then I realized I'd just be 写作 things I should probably be telling you."
This was one of the main reasons why both of them stopped 写作 in their diaries. They started 写作 in their diaries in the first place because they felt like no one understands them, so they needed to tell it to someone, even if they meant 写作 it on a piece of paper. But when they found each other, they finally found a person who understands them, and they felt like they can be honest with each other.
1x03 Friday Night Bites
Stefan gives Elena the necklace, telling her he never wanted to give it to anyone else before. At the time, Stefan doesn't remember where he got the necklace, but he told Lexi that 项链 represents hope to him, still without knowing where he got it from. That 项链 is a symbol of hope for Stefan, but it's also a symbol of their relationship. Their relationship represents hope. Let's also not forget that Stefan's last words to Elena in 2x22 "There's still hope".
Elena: We're a pair. I quit, 你 start.
Stefan: Yeah, yeah, but we're work in progress, we'll figure it out.
Like I 说 earlier, Stefan and Elena grew together. They built their relationship from nothing, they became 老友记 and 爱人 in the same time. This represents their relationship very well because to this day, they're work in progress.
1x07 Haunted
"After everything that has happened, I can't lose the way I feel about you."
This is very important for their relationship. This 邪恶力量 world was new to her at the moment. And Stefan was the person she trusted enough to let him lead her trough it. And this sentence is still true for them. And probably always will be. Stefan will never leave Elena's heart.
1x10 The Turning Point
Like I said, in their relationship it's not always the big 《勇敢传说》 man who starts things. It's a girl who fights for what she wants.
Elena and Stefan start kissing. During the make out, his face turns into his vamp face. He turns around, he doesn't want her to see him like that. He's ashamed of himself. But she tells him not to hide from her, and he turns around. She smiles and touches his face. Now, for a vampire who spent 145 years hating himself for what he did and for what he is, moment when the 爱情 of his life touched part of him he's most ashamed of, it was probably the most glorious moment of his life. Elena can calm Stefan down with just one kiss. We can clearly saw that in this episode. When she kisses him, his face turns back into normal. In 1x18 Stefan comes to her room and tells her he is afraid of what he might do to her, he's panicking. She cups his face, tells him she is not and kisses him. Stefan calms down. In 2x05 when Elena offers him her blood, she drinks it, his face vamps out, she kisses him and his face is back to normal. Elena can make everything right with just one kiss.
1x17 Let The Right One In
Stefan is not always the one who is saving Elena. There are times when Elena is saving Stefan too. In this episode, Elena wasn't physically strong like she is now. But she was always emotionally and mentally strong. She knew someone she loves is in danger, and she didn't want to stand 由 the side. She took things in her own hands. She saved him. Later in the episode, he saved her. We go back to the beginning, Stefan and Elena are constantly saving each other.
This is probably the episode when I realized Elena is in 爱情 with Stefan. Not when she told him that she loves him, but when she showed us that she trusts him. In 1x14, when Stefan went in the tomb because he heard Elena scream knowing he can't get out, she was somewhat surprised because she probably didn't understand why would someone do that to her, someone who she doesn't know for so long. That told me Elena is emotionally still not in the place where Stefan is. But when she gave him her blood to drink, I knew she reached that place.
"You were saving my life, and I was saving yours", Stefan says later in the episode. Stefan and Elena are partners, they're in this together. They're equals, they do not boss each other around. They make compromises, and respect each other decisions, and they don't go and work behind each others back because they can be completely honest with each other. They carry each other.
1x20 Blood Brothers
Stefan says he should have died that night. Damon too. "Every person that has been hurt, every single life that has been 迷失 is because of me" - like I 说 before, Stefan is blaming himself for nearly everything. Not only for turning into a vampire, 或者 turning his brother into a vampire. He doesn't only blame himself for the people he killed, he blames himself for all the people Damon has killed. Because in his mind, it's his fault that Damon started killing people.
"You don't understand Elena. It hurts me. Knowing what I've done, and that pain is with me all the time" - when 你 want to describe Stefan's whole personality in one sentence.
But Elena was able to help him. How? 由 giving him a choice. She didn't make him do anything. She only told him that she will be there for him, that the only thing that matters is the person he chose to be. Person he chose to be is the person he is. That's what's so amazing about them - there is no forcing, only choices.
2x02 《勇敢传说》 New World

2x05 Kill 或者 be Killed
Trust is one of the most important things in a relationship. In the course of their relationship, Stefan never gave Elena a reason not to trust him. While they were together, he had never hurt her, 或者 took away her choices. So when he was honest with her, when he told her he think he should start drinking human blood, she decided to be there for him. After everything that has happened before, after she saw what happens when he drinks human blood, she decided to believe in him, her lover, her partner. She decided to believe in and respect his choice, but she didn't let him do it alone. She had cut her palm, and gave him drink her blood. She 说 "It's 你 and me, Stefan. Always." And that is something I like to hold on to. Not when she told Damon, in the moment of fear, that it's always going to be Stefan. But when she came in the room of her love, created another bond between them, and told him that it's always going to be them. I'd like to believe it's a promise. And this scene always reminds me of a quote from the book: "He wanted to pour his entire being out in front of Elena, to give her everything he was, 或者 ever would be. And he knew that this was the way she had felt, letting him drink her blood. That was the sacred bond they shared."
2x14 Crying Wolf
An episode that showed us a glimpse of what their future would be like. And the silly thing is, it looked like it could happen. Like it could work. Somehow, a human girl and a vampire made us believe they could have a future together.
2x15 The 晚餐 Party
Many people say Stefan kept things from Elena. That he lied to her. I strongly disagree with that. There are things about his past Stefan is not proud of, things he is ashamed of, and of course, those are things he doesn't like to talk about. But whenever Elena asked him something, like she did in this episode, he was completely honest with her. He always told her the truth, and he never kept anything from her, no matter how shocking it was.
2x19 Klaus
Even when they're in a relationship, Stefan and Elena were their own people. They never made decisions for one another, they always had a choice. I remember in this episode, when Elijah told Stefan she is going back to Elijah, Damon tried to stop her. And I remember the expression on Stefan's face. He thought "I don't trust him. But I trust her. And if this is something she wants to do, then this is something she has to do." Stefan believed in Elena just like she believed in him. It's nice when 你 have someone to protect 你 and to save you, because sometimes 你 can't do it alone. But life is not about being safe. Life is about making mistakes and learning from them, and sometimes falling down and getting hurt. And it's important that a person that loves 你 understands that. Stefan knows that. He also knows that if Elena wants to do something, she will find a way.
3x01 The Birthday
For the longest time, Stefan and Elena were each other rocks. They were always there for each other, they were someone the other could lean on. So when Stefan left, both of them 迷失 that. It's like when he left, he took that part of her he gave her when he met her. She felt lost, and the only thing she wanted to do is to know that he is out there, alive, and that she can lean on to him in her thoughts. And Stefan, he was on a mission. He was doing everything that was in his power to hide her existence from Klaus. And he made her birthday wish come true without knowing what it is. The interesting this is, when Klaus says "You never stop caring about family", Stefan goes outside and calls Elena. I guess that along the way, she became his family, his home.
3x02 The Hybrid
Elena can feel Stefan without actually seeing him. They're bonded, always have been, always will be.
3x03 The End of the Affair
And here we go. This is where the hard part begins. Stefan realized Elena is not going to give up. She is not going to stop looking for him. So he was harsh. And this is another reminder of how selfless he actually is. He had put her safety first. In front of his happiness. I don't know which was harder, her hearing those words 或者 him saying them. If there is a choice to be made, Stefan is always going to choose to protect Elena. Even if she will hate him because of it.
"You shouldn't be here."
"Where else would I be?"
3x05 The Reckoning
This was probably the episode when I realized Stefan will never stop loving Elena. They way he fought not to hurt her, he was fighting himself. He wasn't fighting someone else who wanted to harm her, but himself. His brain was telling him to do the one thing, and he was trying to stop his body from doing so. And he succeeded. He was willing to stake himself just to stop himself from hurting her.
"The only thing stronger than your cravings for blood is your 爱情 for this one girl."
3x11 Our Town
Probably the most tragic and unfortunate scene in their whole relationship. It really showed us a tragedy of their love. 爱情 that was broken 由 someone else. Stefan and Elena never stopped loving each other, they never broke up with each other because they weren't happen 或者 in love.. but because circumstances made them to. Because of other people. Because of that, they will always be unfinished business. It showed us how truly 迷失 and lone Stefan is, when he was willing to hurt one person he spent so much time protecting, just to hurt someone other who hurt him. Who hurt every one of them. The scene was especially tragic because of the place where it happened. He was threatening to take her life where he saved it. But the most tragic part is that 由 hurting her, he had hurt himself.
3x12 The Ties That Bind
"You've changed. Something's different about you. You're stronger. Tougher", Stefan 说 to Elena. "It's good, though."
He was so proud of her. It was like he was saying "Look at you. I knew 你 had it in 你 all along. You're becoming a person I always saw in you."
3x13 Bringing Out the Dead
What amazes me the most about this episode, is the moment when Klaus is offering Elena's safety to Stefan and Damon, if they both let her go, Elena gets pregnant 由 human so Klaus can have another doppelganger in the future. In the moment it seemed like Stefan will accept his offer, but he turns it down. Stefan, the man who two episodes 以前 was trying to take away her choice is now protecting it like before. Her safety would cement her future. And Stefan knew her future is her choice. Stefan learned a lesson.
3x14 Dangerous Liaisons
And here we have, Elena at the porch, begging Stefan to care. And in this moment, we can look back at the season 1, when she asked Stefan in her home, when she invited the good she was waiting for, because she needed it. Elena needs Stefan. She needs him in her life, in one way 或者 another.
"Elena, stop", Stefan says.
"I'm not going to stop Stefan. I don't believe 你 don't feel anything", Elena replies.
That scene reminded me of the words 说 由 great Chuck Bass. "In the face of true love, 你 just don't simply give up, even if the object of your affection is begging 你 to."
Stefan and Elena are part of each other. No matter who she's with, part of her 心 will always belong to Stefan. And no matter where he goes, he will always carry it with himself. If she was only his soulmate, I could live with the thought with them not being together, because your soulmate doesn't always have to be your true love, it can be your best friend, 或者 even your sibling. But Elena is the 爱情 of his life. That means no one will ever measure up to her. If there's one chance for happiness Stefan Salvatore has it's Elena Gilbert. Because there is no moving on from the 爱情 of your life. And I believe he is the 爱情 of hers, she just needs to realize it. They waited for few lifetimes to meet, and I can't imagine anything 更多 sadder than someone having 爱情 of their life 下一个 to them, then losing them. It was time for them to meet. Because all that time Stefan was doing only one thing, waiting for Elena. Their 爱情 is destined since 1864. And when her body needed saving, her soul called for his.
Elena Gilbert 迷失 her parents in a car crash. She survived, only to later discover Stefan was the one who saved her. And trough the course of their relationship they kept saving each other in 更多 ways than one.
"We always 说 in the pilot it's a girl who feels dead inside and a boy who is dead inside and how they bring each other back to life." Elena felt lonely, like no one understands her, like she's all alone in the world, until Stefan came into her life. Someone who she felt attracted to and connected with from the moment she bumped into him on the first 日 of the school in front of the man's room.
Now, let's take a look into their journey, before we start talking about why I believe they should be endgame. There is a lot of talk about how Stefan and Elena rushed into a relationship and how they had no build up, which is something I obviously disagree with. People meet, people talk, people go on a date, people enter a relationship - is there something 更多 natural than that? They had a build up, but that build up happened within a relationship. Stefan and Elena grew together, they became partners.
1x01 Pilot
"We have history together", Elena says when they meet in a cemetery. This was probably the best thought, and one of my 最喜爱的 lines from the show. Stefan and Elena really did have history together. Even if we exclude her resemblance to Katherine and the fact he saved her from the car crash, they're two souls finding their way back to each other. Their journey began long before the first episode.
"Or 你 can do is to be ready for the good. So when it comes 你 can invite it in. Because 你 need it. I need it", Elena writes in her diary. In that moment Stefan shows up on her front porch, and Elena invites him in the house. This is the beginning of their story and it's also a very important step in their relationship, because it not only demonstrates that Stefan is the good Elena is waiting for, he is also someone she needs.
1x02 The Night of the Comet
I find Stefan igniting Elena's candle is very symbolic. It's like a metaphor of putting light in her life again.
"You know, that comet has been traveling trough 太空 for thousands of years. All alone. I think it's just a ball of snow and ice trapped on a path it can't escape. Once every 145 he gets to come home."
This is one of the 语录 that describe Stefan very nicely. Although Stefan had Lexi, she was never enough to keep him from his ripper side. She was the person who knew how to help him, but not the person that knew how to make him stay that way. Unlike Elena, because of who Stefan was holding on to while he was out with Klaus.
A ball of snow (Stefan's good, mellow side) and ice (Stefan's bad, rough side) trapped on a path it can't escape (eternity). What I find amusing about this quote is how obvious it is Stefan is talking about the comet, 由 saying it, but in the last sentence he says he gets to come home. He is talking about himself.
It was also the episode where they first kissed. What I also 爱情 about their relationship that it's not always the guy who start things. Most of their relationship Elena is the one who initiates, like their first kiss, first I 爱情 you, first time they slept together. Even now in 3x14 Elena went after Stefan. She is always reaching to him because she needs him in her life one way 或者 another.
"But then I realized I'd just be 写作 things I should probably be telling you."
This was one of the main reasons why both of them stopped 写作 in their diaries. They started 写作 in their diaries in the first place because they felt like no one understands them, so they needed to tell it to someone, even if they meant 写作 it on a piece of paper. But when they found each other, they finally found a person who understands them, and they felt like they can be honest with each other.
1x03 Friday Night Bites
Stefan gives Elena the necklace, telling her he never wanted to give it to anyone else before. At the time, Stefan doesn't remember where he got the necklace, but he told Lexi that 项链 represents hope to him, still without knowing where he got it from. That 项链 is a symbol of hope for Stefan, but it's also a symbol of their relationship. Their relationship represents hope. Let's also not forget that Stefan's last words to Elena in 2x22 "There's still hope".
Elena: We're a pair. I quit, 你 start.
Stefan: Yeah, yeah, but we're work in progress, we'll figure it out.
Like I 说 earlier, Stefan and Elena grew together. They built their relationship from nothing, they became 老友记 and 爱人 in the same time. This represents their relationship very well because to this day, they're work in progress.
1x07 Haunted
"After everything that has happened, I can't lose the way I feel about you."
This is very important for their relationship. This 邪恶力量 world was new to her at the moment. And Stefan was the person she trusted enough to let him lead her trough it. And this sentence is still true for them. And probably always will be. Stefan will never leave Elena's heart.
1x10 The Turning Point
Like I said, in their relationship it's not always the big 《勇敢传说》 man who starts things. It's a girl who fights for what she wants.
Elena and Stefan start kissing. During the make out, his face turns into his vamp face. He turns around, he doesn't want her to see him like that. He's ashamed of himself. But she tells him not to hide from her, and he turns around. She smiles and touches his face. Now, for a vampire who spent 145 years hating himself for what he did and for what he is, moment when the 爱情 of his life touched part of him he's most ashamed of, it was probably the most glorious moment of his life. Elena can calm Stefan down with just one kiss. We can clearly saw that in this episode. When she kisses him, his face turns back into normal. In 1x18 Stefan comes to her room and tells her he is afraid of what he might do to her, he's panicking. She cups his face, tells him she is not and kisses him. Stefan calms down. In 2x05 when Elena offers him her blood, she drinks it, his face vamps out, she kisses him and his face is back to normal. Elena can make everything right with just one kiss.
1x17 Let The Right One In
Stefan is not always the one who is saving Elena. There are times when Elena is saving Stefan too. In this episode, Elena wasn't physically strong like she is now. But she was always emotionally and mentally strong. She knew someone she loves is in danger, and she didn't want to stand 由 the side. She took things in her own hands. She saved him. Later in the episode, he saved her. We go back to the beginning, Stefan and Elena are constantly saving each other.
This is probably the episode when I realized Elena is in 爱情 with Stefan. Not when she told him that she loves him, but when she showed us that she trusts him. In 1x14, when Stefan went in the tomb because he heard Elena scream knowing he can't get out, she was somewhat surprised because she probably didn't understand why would someone do that to her, someone who she doesn't know for so long. That told me Elena is emotionally still not in the place where Stefan is. But when she gave him her blood to drink, I knew she reached that place.
"You were saving my life, and I was saving yours", Stefan says later in the episode. Stefan and Elena are partners, they're in this together. They're equals, they do not boss each other around. They make compromises, and respect each other decisions, and they don't go and work behind each others back because they can be completely honest with each other. They carry each other.
1x20 Blood Brothers
Stefan says he should have died that night. Damon too. "Every person that has been hurt, every single life that has been 迷失 is because of me" - like I 说 before, Stefan is blaming himself for nearly everything. Not only for turning into a vampire, 或者 turning his brother into a vampire. He doesn't only blame himself for the people he killed, he blames himself for all the people Damon has killed. Because in his mind, it's his fault that Damon started killing people.
"You don't understand Elena. It hurts me. Knowing what I've done, and that pain is with me all the time" - when 你 want to describe Stefan's whole personality in one sentence.
But Elena was able to help him. How? 由 giving him a choice. She didn't make him do anything. She only told him that she will be there for him, that the only thing that matters is the person he chose to be. Person he chose to be is the person he is. That's what's so amazing about them - there is no forcing, only choices.
2x02 《勇敢传说》 New World
For this episode, I'd like to use the quote 说 由 @signalfire90
"Do 你 know the times when I see how deeply Stefan loves Elena? It’s not when he is protecting her 或者 fighting off compulsion for her. It’s when he is holding Caroline in his arms and telling her that he would never let anything happen to her. It’s when he tells Bonnie to close her eyes and brings her out from a hole she fell into. It’s when he runs into a tomb to save Jeremy knowing that he would never be able to get out. It’s when he offers to switch places with Jenna when Klaus was going to sacrifice her. THOSE are the moments that I see what 爱情 really is. And that is the type of 爱情 I would want for myself. The type of 爱情 where my significant other would care not just for me, but for all the people who are important to me. Because if he truly loved me, he would know how much 更多 important it is to me that my loved ones are taken care of first. That is my definition of love."
Stefan gives Elena her wish. One normal High School memory with him. He takes her on the 最佳, 返回页首 for a Ferris Wheel, and kisses her. Although Elena was a 17 年 old student and Stefan pretended to be one, they had one of the most mature relationships I've ever seen. And somehow, they made it seem real. Even though their life was a living hell, they managed to have moments like these.. moments that made us think they could be doing this forever.
2x05 Kill 或者 be Killed
Trust is one of the most important things in a relationship. In the course of their relationship, Stefan never gave Elena a reason not to trust him. While they were together, he had never hurt her, 或者 took away her choices. So when he was honest with her, when he told her he think he should start drinking human blood, she decided to be there for him. After everything that has happened before, after she saw what happens when he drinks human blood, she decided to believe in him, her lover, her partner. She decided to believe in and respect his choice, but she didn't let him do it alone. She had cut her palm, and gave him drink her blood. She 说 "It's 你 and me, Stefan. Always." And that is something I like to hold on to. Not when she told Damon, in the moment of fear, that it's always going to be Stefan. But when she came in the room of her love, created another bond between them, and told him that it's always going to be them. I'd like to believe it's a promise. And this scene always reminds me of a quote from the book: "He wanted to pour his entire being out in front of Elena, to give her everything he was, 或者 ever would be. And he knew that this was the way she had felt, letting him drink her blood. That was the sacred bond they shared."
2x14 Crying Wolf
An episode that showed us a glimpse of what their future would be like. And the silly thing is, it looked like it could happen. Like it could work. Somehow, a human girl and a vampire made us believe they could have a future together.
2x15 The 晚餐 Party
Many people say Stefan kept things from Elena. That he lied to her. I strongly disagree with that. There are things about his past Stefan is not proud of, things he is ashamed of, and of course, those are things he doesn't like to talk about. But whenever Elena asked him something, like she did in this episode, he was completely honest with her. He always told her the truth, and he never kept anything from her, no matter how shocking it was.
2x19 Klaus
Even when they're in a relationship, Stefan and Elena were their own people. They never made decisions for one another, they always had a choice. I remember in this episode, when Elijah told Stefan she is going back to Elijah, Damon tried to stop her. And I remember the expression on Stefan's face. He thought "I don't trust him. But I trust her. And if this is something she wants to do, then this is something she has to do." Stefan believed in Elena just like she believed in him. It's nice when 你 have someone to protect 你 and to save you, because sometimes 你 can't do it alone. But life is not about being safe. Life is about making mistakes and learning from them, and sometimes falling down and getting hurt. And it's important that a person that loves 你 understands that. Stefan knows that. He also knows that if Elena wants to do something, she will find a way.
3x01 The Birthday
For the longest time, Stefan and Elena were each other rocks. They were always there for each other, they were someone the other could lean on. So when Stefan left, both of them 迷失 that. It's like when he left, he took that part of her he gave her when he met her. She felt lost, and the only thing she wanted to do is to know that he is out there, alive, and that she can lean on to him in her thoughts. And Stefan, he was on a mission. He was doing everything that was in his power to hide her existence from Klaus. And he made her birthday wish come true without knowing what it is. The interesting this is, when Klaus says "You never stop caring about family", Stefan goes outside and calls Elena. I guess that along the way, she became his family, his home.
3x02 The Hybrid
Elena can feel Stefan without actually seeing him. They're bonded, always have been, always will be.
3x03 The End of the Affair
And here we go. This is where the hard part begins. Stefan realized Elena is not going to give up. She is not going to stop looking for him. So he was harsh. And this is another reminder of how selfless he actually is. He had put her safety first. In front of his happiness. I don't know which was harder, her hearing those words 或者 him saying them. If there is a choice to be made, Stefan is always going to choose to protect Elena. Even if she will hate him because of it.
"You shouldn't be here."
"Where else would I be?"
3x05 The Reckoning
This was probably the episode when I realized Stefan will never stop loving Elena. They way he fought not to hurt her, he was fighting himself. He wasn't fighting someone else who wanted to harm her, but himself. His brain was telling him to do the one thing, and he was trying to stop his body from doing so. And he succeeded. He was willing to stake himself just to stop himself from hurting her.
"The only thing stronger than your cravings for blood is your 爱情 for this one girl."
3x11 Our Town
Probably the most tragic and unfortunate scene in their whole relationship. It really showed us a tragedy of their love. 爱情 that was broken 由 someone else. Stefan and Elena never stopped loving each other, they never broke up with each other because they weren't happen 或者 in love.. but because circumstances made them to. Because of other people. Because of that, they will always be unfinished business. It showed us how truly 迷失 and lone Stefan is, when he was willing to hurt one person he spent so much time protecting, just to hurt someone other who hurt him. Who hurt every one of them. The scene was especially tragic because of the place where it happened. He was threatening to take her life where he saved it. But the most tragic part is that 由 hurting her, he had hurt himself.
3x12 The Ties That Bind
"You've changed. Something's different about you. You're stronger. Tougher", Stefan 说 to Elena. "It's good, though."
He was so proud of her. It was like he was saying "Look at you. I knew 你 had it in 你 all along. You're becoming a person I always saw in you."
3x13 Bringing Out the Dead
What amazes me the most about this episode, is the moment when Klaus is offering Elena's safety to Stefan and Damon, if they both let her go, Elena gets pregnant 由 human so Klaus can have another doppelganger in the future. In the moment it seemed like Stefan will accept his offer, but he turns it down. Stefan, the man who two episodes 以前 was trying to take away her choice is now protecting it like before. Her safety would cement her future. And Stefan knew her future is her choice. Stefan learned a lesson.
3x14 Dangerous Liaisons
And here we have, Elena at the porch, begging Stefan to care. And in this moment, we can look back at the season 1, when she asked Stefan in her home, when she invited the good she was waiting for, because she needed it. Elena needs Stefan. She needs him in her life, in one way 或者 another.
"Elena, stop", Stefan says.
"I'm not going to stop Stefan. I don't believe 你 don't feel anything", Elena replies.
That scene reminded me of the words 说 由 great Chuck Bass. "In the face of true love, 你 just don't simply give up, even if the object of your affection is begging 你 to."
Stefan and Elena are part of each other. No matter who she's with, part of her 心 will always belong to Stefan. And no matter where he goes, he will always carry it with himself. Stefan and Elena are meant to be together. Elena can feel Stefan without actually seeing him, and he is the only one who can tell her and Katherine apart. They can't even be described as soulmates because they're so much 更多 than that. And that stands, but 你 ask me why should they be endgame? Elena is not only Stefan's soulmate. If she was only his soulmate, I could live with the thought with them not being together, because your soulmate doesn't always have to be your true love, it can be your best friend, 或者 even your sibling. But Elena is the 爱情 of his life. That means no one will ever measure up to her. If there's one chance for happiness Stefan Salvatore has it's Elena Gilbert. Because there is no moving on from the 爱情 of your life. And I believe he is the 爱情 of hers, she just needs to realize it. They waited for few lifetimes to meet, and I can't imagine anything 更多 sadder than someone having 爱情 of their life 下一个 to them, then losing them. I can't imagine Stefan completely and truly happy without her, and I sure as hell can't imagine him watching the 爱情 of his life with someone else. Stefan living without Elena, that's not epic, that's tragic.
Like the conversation between Stefan and Bonnie in the 图书 goes..
Bonnie: There won't be anyone else, will there?
Stefan: No, not for me.
Without Elena, he would always be half himself, only half alive.
To quote Phoebe, "It's a known fact that lobsters fall in 爱情 and mate for life." Stefan and Elena are lobsters. They will always be connected, no matter what.
If this isn't true love, then I don't know what is.
