I think he has because he lets Kohaku travil around with him not gest Rin. He even let kagome ride his fluff wonce.

I think he has that 'meh' feeling towards the rest of humanity. I still would not cross him; I don't think he's softened up in the slightest. XD

I definitely think he has. He let Sango get away with trying to kill Rin. He protected Kohaku. He accepted Inu and even trusted him. Ex. in the final act, he said "So Naraku is still alive, What's taking you so long Inuyasha?" This means that he accepted and respected Inu as a brother worthy of his bloodline. And the most proof of all, he did allow Rin to stay with a human. If he didn't think human is of any worth, he would never let his little cute Rin stay with them. Neverrrrrrrrrr. If I am him, I wouldn't though.

Accepting and tolerating are two different things. He does not like humans he tolerates the ones that hang around his brother only because of the few special moments when Rin and Kagome interacted. But make no mistake, if any of them were to hurt Rin, Lord Sesshomaru would be in a killing mood and nothing would stop him. Take for instance in "Inuyasha:The Movie 3: Swords of an Honorable Ruler" when he was out of control because of the sword Sounga and he came close to killing Rin and Kagome was able to stop him, Lord Sesshomaru told his half-brother, "Be grateful to that girl." If Inuyasha had hurt or killed Rin, Lord Sesshomaru would have finished him, of that I have no doubt.

I think I made this question before I knew about Kohaku joining the group, because he was obviously protective of him as well. I think he just had a soft spot for unfortunately abused orphans.

he definitley only accepts rin but only because after saving her three times he probably grew an attachment to her though she will probably be the only human ever to get his full emotion and i guess with Kohaku he just tolerates him for Rin's sake...

I think he has,
He save kagome when she pushed by inuyasha in naraku's body.
He protected kohaku (i dont know in anime, but in manga, when naraku's tentacle about to take kohaku shikon he jumped between them sacrificed his body).
He forgive sango.
When inuyasha couldnt attack magatsuhi because he was affraid he will harm his friends, sesshomaru with them and lead them to give inuyasha a chance to attack magatsuhi (I only read manga, not follow the series actually)
So its not just about rin for me. Yes Rin came to his life and help to 'humanized' him and she did a good job.
