WHEN DID FREDDIE MERCURY 加入 THE BAND? WHEN DID THE BAND START?

In April 1970, Mercury joined with guitarist Brian May and 鼓手 Roger Taylor who had previously been in a band called Smile. Despite reservations from the other members, Mercury chose the name "Queen" for the new band. He later 说 about the band's name, "I was certainly aware of the gay connotations, but that was just one facet of it". At about the same time, he changed his surname, Bulsara, to Mercury.

Actually Freddie Mercury joined Brian May and Roger Taylor in 1970, then they had some different 低音 players but no one really fitted in. In 1971 they met John Deacon and he was the right one. So 皇后乐队 was officially born in 1971 and they started with some small gigs to get attention and they released the first album at 1973.

皇后乐队 formed 由 Freddie Mercury (then Bulsara) in 1971. They added Deacy in 1972, and then they started as the classic Queen.

Freddie Bulsara went to college with Tim Staffell, the former lead singer of Smile. In 1968, Tim introduced Freddie Bulsara to Brian May and Roger Taylor. In 1969, Freddie and Ibex/Wreckage did their first concert. Freddie was a bit of an introvert, so he got shy and nerves affected his vocals, it didn’t go as well as planned. In 1970, Tim Staffell quit Smile and joined a new band, Humpy Bong. Freddie Bulsara became the new lead singer of Smile and they performed at BBC sessions. Shortly after Freddie became the new lead singer, they wanted to change the name of the band. Brian suggested “Build Your Own Boat”, Roger suggested “The Rich Kids”, Freddie suggested “Queen”. 皇后乐队 became the new name of the band because it was outrageous. They were looking for a bassist. Mike Grose, a friend that Roger went to school with volunteered. In 1971, Mike retired. They hired a new bassist, Doug Bogie. There were rumours that Doug broke the rules, and got fired. They later hired a new bassist, John Deacon. John was a little shy at first, but, became 更多 confident.
