Because there is always the chance that everything turns out fine with a complicated pregnancy.

There are always other ways of still being able to have children, and a family. But this circumstance involves death... much more serious. Finding out that you're pregnant, being thrilled about it, only to later find out that you basically have to choose between YOUR life, or your baby's life... I can't even imagine that.

well in this case you might die so its worse for me...although finding out that you cant have kids is also very very very bad you can always find others ways of having a kid..but you are not going to die if you find out that you are not fertile whereas in this case its more frightening and puts you in a very difficult position of choosing whether you are going to continue your pregnancy and live with the fear of dying or just...eliminate it and kill your baby

I totally agree with Kelly. I can't imagine going through the pregnanacy and having to choose whether to continue with your pregnancy, and putting your life in danger or killing the baby. It's absoutly awful.

Not being able to have kids is awful too but there are other ways to have children I guess.

You could adopt if you can't have babies on your own.Peyton's situation is beyond insane. I agree with leytonfaaan_18. The increased possibility that you might die just after having your first baby is heart-wrenching.Though both are horrible,I just think adoption is a great option.

Both are awful! But I think not being able to have kids is worst because you wont be able to get pregnat and having babies with the man that you love, you wont experience the bonding that a mum has when she is pregnat and gives birth and you know that the kid you have wont have your DNA, look like you etc
In the other case if Peyton had gone to the doctor at the beginning of the pregnancy he would tell her it is not ok, she could have ended the pegnancy early before the baby is even formed and she could try and have another baby some other time...

Yeah, but with Peyton, there was the chance that she might DIE. At least Brooke's still able to start a family with the man that she loves (even if it's not her own child) but in Peyton's situation you would know you're never gonna be able to see your child (if you die of course) or, on the other hand, you have to live with the fact that you had to end your pregnancy and your baby's life too! That decision is so much harder I think, not the fact that you can "never experience the bonding that a mum has when she is pregnant" ( :

After thinking it over I am torn as well. This is a really difficult choice!

I don't want to say "well there are other ways of having kids" if you find out your body is incapable of having children (or your husband's body)... because in reality, those other ways are extremely difficult and complicated. Some people's body can handle in-vitro, some can't. Either way it's extremely expensive and risky. In terms of adoption, that's a lot harder of a process than what they show on television. People wait 10-15 years to adopt and are still never able to. Many kids who are put up for adoption have serious physical and psychological problems because their parents often used drugs or abused them... so that's a very different kind of responsibility you are taking on then just becoming a parent. Plus, you often can't adopt a baby when they are an infant... so you're talking about a child who may have spent the first 5-10 years of his or her life without you in it. It's all very complicated and it's not as easy as "well, they can always adopt" (except for on television of course).

But either way... no one is dying in that scenario. In my opinion death is worse than most (not all, but most) options....especially the scenario of never being able to be a parent (even if it's the thing you've wanted most in the world) so to me having the risk of (1) dying yourself, (2) knowing your child will grow up without a mother, (3) your baby possibly dying as well... is pretty much one of the worst scenarios I can imagine.

IMO this is more of an immediate dilemma and theres a choice to make.
The other one sucks and would devastate me, but having to make that choice would be awful.

Finding out that your biggest dream can't come true is horror.

But Brooke could adopt and would love her baby as much as she would love her biological baby. And Peyton could die and could never get the chance to meet her baby. Peytons situation is worst. But of course in OTH they all survive in the end with a miracle. :-P

In Peyton's situation, you can try again, another baby.
In Brook's situation, there's no chance, never, ever.
