Studio time: Meghan Trainor and Harry Styles have struck up a friendship

Harry Styles has found himself another lady friend to hang out with in the form of American singing sensation Meghan Trainor.

The One Direction star has struck up a close friendship with bubbly blonde singer-songwriter Meghan after meeting in the US, where Haz and his band have been embarking on their Where We Are tour.

Hot right now Meghan catapulted to fame after she recently reached No2 in the American charts with All About That Bass and is in demand to release fresh material.

I hear the pair, both 20, were introduced in LA by mutual friends and instantly hit it off.

They arranged a meeting and Harry offered to help pen her next track.

My mole tells me: “They have a similar sense of humour and Harry was keen to lend her his musical opinion.

“He’s got a great ear and she was keen to hear about what Harry had to say. They also have good chemistry and get on really well”

Speaking last week Meghan revealed she was planning to hang out with Harry after they were introduced by mutual pals.

She said: “I met Harry, and he’s like a friend now. We just texted each other a minute ago, and I’m still sweating over it.”

Haz, who has no plans to leave 1D, is starting to earn a name for himself as a songwriter.

He’s also been in the studio with Irish band Kodaline.

Frontman Steve Garrigan is a fan of Hazza’s dulcet tones after spending time in the studio with him in Los Angeles.

Steve said: “We did write a really cool love song. His voice is really strong.

“I didn’t know what to expect. He just started singing. I was like, ‘Wow, he’s got a great voice.’

“We would release a song with Harry . We ended up writing a song and having fun. Whatever’s released is released.”
