"I'm so excited," I smiled at Niall, who was driving us towards a lake where we were going canoeing. He smiled and leaned over to squeeze my hand. "I really wanted this to be special," he said. "It's our first public outing since we got engaged." I laughed, "Do 你 think people will see us?" Niall shrugged. "Maybe a few. 你 know, the people who run the 独木舟 place for the lake. And maybe some tourists," he chuckled, pulling into the parking lot.
On the canoe, we were in the middle of the lake as I began to row. Suddenly, Niall grabbed my paddle away from me and put it on the side of the canoe. "Niall, what are 你 doing?" I said. "I'm taking this away from you, so 你 can't escape. Moohahahaha," he laughed evilly. "Why would I want to?" I smiled, letting him do his crazy plan. We just sat there and talked for a while. After about thirty 分钟 I looked over and saw a man in a black t-shirt with a huge camera. I nudged Niall and silently gestured to the man. Niall laughed and shouted sarcastically, "IT'S THE FUZZ!!!" He handed me my paddle back, grabbed his own paddle and we quickly paddled away. After we got out of eye sight of the man, I turned and 说 to Niall, "You know, Niall, 'the fuzz' is the police, not paparazzi." He looked confused. "God, I'm stupid," he chuckled. I kissed his cheek. "No, you're not."
Suddenly Niall's face brightened, and I could tell he had an idea. "After we turn in our boat, let's go somewhere even 更多 public and confuse people about your ring!" he said. I laughed. "That's genius," I smiled. "See, you're not stupid." He shrugged in an adorable way and began to row to shore.
We got in his car after we turned in the canoe, aware that the man was still snapping pictures of us. Niall turned to me and said, "Now, when we get there, don't make your ring TOO obvious. In fact, hide it a little." I nodded as he pulled out.
We began to walk around Winfrey street, a pretty public place. Of course, five 分钟 after we arrived, I noticed both men and women snapping pictures of us. Some were even hiding in bushes. "Now," Niall leaned in and whispered to me. I smiled and pulled my hair behind my ear, making my ring slightly obvious, then quickly shoved my hand into my pocket and didn't 显示 it again.
Sure enough, a few days later, Harry ran up to us and slapped a People magazine down on the coffee table. One of the small pictures said, "Niall and Lilah: Are they engaged?" The picture was of us walking on Winfrey street, me with my hand up to my hair. A smaller picture was zoomed in on my finger, revealing the ring. Harry laughed and said, "You guys are genius." I kissed Niall and said, "I 爱情 confusing nosy people."
"You should make it official when we're on the Ellen show," Liam 说 to Niall, taking a sip of 苹果 juice. "Make what official?" Niall chuckled. Liam rolled his eyes. "That 你 got a new dog," he 说 sarcastically.
Louis nodded. "That would be AMAZING. Niall is the last to be a virgin, last to get a tattoo, but the first to be engaged," he said. "And married," Harry added.
