Ronnie's POV:
The rest of the week seemed really quite.At lunch once,I went and sat with Rebecca and her friends.They kept gaving me,ugly unwanted looks,so I rushed and threw my plate away.I went to the bathroom and cried.I missed my old 老友记 in New York.Shortly after I ran in,Rebecca came and tried to comfort me.After that day,I'd sit alone.Rebecca would come sit with me,But I'd tell her to go sit with her friends.Sometimes I though about sitting with James since he always sat alone.I tried to go sit with him but he moved away.Our parents had decide to send us to the 海滩 for the weekend.There was a 海滩 house were we would stay.
"Alright,You guys have a good time."My mom shouted from the porch.Daddy gave James a stern look.
"Buh bye!!Love 你 sissy and Jamie!!"Kenna shouted.
We loaded up our stuff and started to drive.I was stuck in James pick up truck with him driving.Rebecca and 天使 took the car.
We rode in silence.I looked at him,He was rather handsome.
He looked back,I quickly turned my head.
"Why do 你 keep looking at me?What?You think I'm ugly."He asked.
Why was he so angry all the time?I didn't understand.
"I want to say sorry for yelling at 你 the other day.You just want to know about my medal,Didn't you?"
"Look,I know 你 don't want to go to this stupid beach,As I much as I do,So can't we just go home?"
"You don't have to be so stubborn,I know your curious.Admit it."
He looked at me.
"I got the medal when I was little,My mom 说 it was on the 日 你 were born."
He didn't say anything.
"James,Why.."
"Dont call me that!"He grunted.
"Oh I'm sorry.."
He looked at me.
"Why do 你 not like your name?You 说 your 老友记 call 你 Derek,But at lunch 你 sit alone."
"Thanks for telling me I have no friends."He 说 bitterly.
"I didn't mean that,Look at me."I unbuckled my 座位 带, 皮带 and scooted closer to him."You can tell me,and I'm not trying to be pushy,If it seems like it."
"When I was little,In elementary school,The kids would yell out 'James is lame.Its a stupid thing but after awhile it hurt,"He

"Why are 你 do angry all the time,The only time 你 didn't complain,was when 你 met Kenna."
"You like to ask questions."
"I'm just trying to understand you."
We drove into the 海滩 parking lot.He parked the truck.
"I used to have a sister,"His voice calmed down."Her name was Ellie,She was 4 when she died."
"How?"I asked.I now sat really close to him.
"It was a car crash,My dad was driving,and he got a text.I always angry after that,Just why did she have to die?She was the only person who could make me smile.So are 你 satisfided?You know now who I am."
"It's okay,I like who 你 are,and 你 don't have to be something your not,But Ill call 你 Derek if it makes 你 feel better."I smiled."So can we be friends?"
"Fine,Whatever."He responded.
I laughed,Something about him was different.He acted tough,But he seemed like a sweetheart.
"Oh!They getting frisky!!"Angel laughed.
"Shut up angel!I barely know her."He blushed.
We got out the car and He got some bags out of the truck.He looked at me.
"Come on!Do 你 want me to carry your bags 或者 not?"
"Guess that's your way of being nice?"I smiled.
I handed him my bags.He struggled to carry then in to the 海滩 house.The house was painted a light orange,and was two stories high.Derek had the bottom half and we had the 最佳, 返回页首 half.
"I don't know about you,But I'm going lay out in the sand."Smiled Angel.
We all went and changed,into our bathing suits.
I went and laid out on the beach,and waited for Derek.
He shyly walked out,He stil wore a t-shirt.I was rather curious what he looked like shirtless.
"What's wrong?Are ya to shy?You think your ugly don't you."teased Angel.
"Shut up,You stupid little bitch."He snapped.
"Oh 你 little..."She poured her drink on him.
"Really?I just bought this shirt!"He whined.
"Um..Derek.."I said.
He took off his shirt...I feasted my eyes on his glistening body,He was muscular with a tattoo on his arm,It looked like the sun.
"What?"He asked.
"Oh Nevermind."
I felt all lovey dovey but at the same time awkward.I had flirted before with guys,But I never had dated one nor kissed one.
I blocked my emotions to focus on what Derek was saying.
"Do 你 really want to be here?"He asked we laid 下一个 to each other under an umbrella.His voice was calm.
"Well,If I had choice to go back,I would."
"Then why do 你 stay?"
"Well,I don't know.I have met so many people now.I got to meet you."
"It's not that great."
"Why do 你 say that?Your a sweetheart."
"No I'm not."
I sat up,And leaned over and looked at him,My hand touched his hand my 心 skipped a beat.
"You act so tough,But your really not,Your really sensitive and kind under that hard shell,So quit trying and be yourself."
"Whatever."He chuckled.
"Now come on and lets go swim,silly."I grabbed his hand and lead him to the water.He never let go of my hand.
