This is only my personal opinion. I’m not attacking anyone for having their own opinions. I’m only expressing my own opinion and asking 你 to provide your own input. I’m trying my best to say all this without insulting anyone.
I see and hear people all the time saying that rap is only someone talking to a beat about having lots of money, getting girls, and doing drugs. This may seem true to the unenlightened ear, whose sources are only that heard on the radio and MTV. Radio rap is mainstream music. Most of us know how corrupt mainstream 音乐 can be. Most of us say “I hate that radio ****” We know that the better music, “REAL” 音乐 as we like to say, isn’t found on the radio. Well, my friends, the same thing applies to rap. Mainstream rap is commercialized rap, as I see it.
Some also argue that rap is destroying today’s youth with their inappropriate lyrics... I think that statement can apply to any genre of music. (Closer 由 Nine Inch Nails, 爱情 Game 由 Lady Gaga, Cigaro 由 System of a Down… just to name a few)
Now, if 你 tried listening to underground rap, 你 just might change my mind. I know, underground rap sounds a little put offish (if that’s a real word) but it’s not bad at all. I admit I tried to stay clear of it without ever giving it a chance, but I finally decided to give it a listen when I decided to become 更多 open minded musically. I honestly believe that underground rap lyrics have the potential to inspire and really change lives.
Please take a listen to these few tracks and decide for yourselves. They say that rap takes no 唱歌 talent, and that may be true, but it does take great rhythmic talent. It’s not just poetry. It’s much greater than 诗歌 (I write 诗歌 myself, at times, and this stuff is so different than anything I’ve ever read. The beats and rhythm are so different than something 你 would just write down on a piece of paper.)

Sure, rap is terrible when it's terrible, but that doesn't make it all bad. Some people just need to expand their horizons a bit instead of accepting everything 音乐电视 puts on their plate.
So please, try giving the real 音乐 a chance before 你 decide to judge and completely disregard an entire genre.
