How do others react to your taste in music?

I'm a very shy and girly person so when I tell people that my 最喜爱的 genre of 音乐 is rock it shocks them a little.

Depends; my taste in 音乐 is literally all over the place so people generally enjoy at least some of the 音乐 I listen to.

Their reaction is generally this:
Them: Eww, Westlife, they're crap.
Me: *internally screaming.*

First they're shocked when I tell them I listen to metal (even though it's extremely melodic!) and they ask how a shy girl like me ended up liking that stuff. When I try explaining that the bands I listen to use a lot of elements from other genres like folk, classical orchestra/piano, ambience, opera, Middle-eastern, 万圣节前夕 音乐 (soundtrack), etc., as well as mixing with other metal genres, they give me a really questioning look as if what I just 说 wasn't possible and say, "Yeah, I listen to normal music, sorry." Then when I say some of these bands are actually so "normal" in 欧洲 that they make it on the radio, they just give up on the conversation.

Most people don't really have any idea what pop punk 或者 post-hardcore are lol

Well..I really 爱情 Korean-pop, & when I tell people they are like ''Wtf is she talking about??!!!!''
I had to bring in a CD filled with my 最喜爱的 group music!!! I was shy...I think nobody liked it :"( It hurts my feelings when people talk bad about INFINITE!!.....Something comes to my hurt when it comes to INFINITE<3

Deppending on people they say my taste is "weird" 或者 "unique" xD When they ask me what my favourite genre is, I answer that I 爱情 a lot of genres but my favourite is probably indie and it's variations... then they ask what indie is. When they ask me about my favourite singers they usually don't even know who 80% of them are D: *tradegy* hahaha. I find some common ground with almost everyone, though, cuz I 爱情 a wide range of 音乐 so it isn't that bad:)

It depends on who I talk to. Older people think I'm the coolest 21 年 old ever while people my age think my choice in 音乐 is too old and I need to be 更多 modern. Then there's the occasional person who is just shocked that I 爱情 and know so much about the Who, Led Zeppelin, 粉, 粉色 Floyd & the Beatles.

It depends on who I'm talking to. Some think it's weird, others think it's awesome 'coz they like the same type of music, same artist etc.

I mainly listen to Japanese 音乐 and symphonic rock/symphonic metal, so others of my age are a little freaked out 由 it. Otherwise, it intrigues them. x)

I get classified into several different groups (at school) depending on how well the people actually know me.

I like alternative, metal, dubstep, etc, and that shocks people who classify me as the quiet, innocent, nerdy girl. I have gotten some impressed "good choice" reactions, too.

Most people say things like "Never heard of him/her."

Because I have an eclectic taste in music, I find, almost every time, something in common with others .... But I still get to raise some eyebrows when I mention that I 爱情 finnish bands like H.I.M 或者 The Rasmus. The immediate reaction is : WHO ??!! 哈哈 ... Some people think my taste in 音乐 is good, others say is rather strange :)))

People don't really say anything bad about my 音乐 choices...they say "oh" and a few people have my taste. 爱情 R&B! I like pop , a little rock, electronica/dance, very little country, old school 音乐 too.

I 爱情 to listen to Japanese music...all the time......to the point where people are "telling me to start listening to songs in English". I AM NOT LIMITED TO ONLY LISTENING TO SONGS IN MY NATIVE LANGUAGE THANK 你 VERY MUCH.

Why I say this? Because I showed my 老友记 a VERY relaxing song and they were judging what I listened to instead of actually listening. I thought they didn't care about what I listened to!

They usually say something like "I don't know what they're saying." 或者 "Why aren't they speaking English?"

My mom says my 音乐 is very diverse.
And it's actually very true.
I mean if 你 go in my youtobe playlist you'd be what the fucking at how 随意 the artists are.
It goes from, Lorde, to Evanescence, to Eminem, American Authors, Beyonce, The Script, Justin Timberlake, and Within Temptation and A few others, So yea. But my 老友记 don't really know what I like.

how do other's react to my taste in music?
differently.either i'm 'too mainstream' for people 或者 i'm not in the 'know' about 'real' music... i like what i like... and i don't listen to everything...
