Everglades National Park is a huge swamp in southern Florida that is best known for its wildlife. Just outside the park is the Everglades Alligator Farm, a privately owned tourist attraction that raises the state's most famous reptile.

The footage was taken during Katrina's first landfall on the Southeast Florida coast near Miami. Peak winds occur after the eye and are near 85mph with gusts to 105mph.
