Alice\'s Mandarin and Young Mad Hatter costumes from Disney\'s Alice Through the Looking Glass at D23 Expo...

Disney\'s Alice Through the Looking Glass movie adaptation may not reach cinemas until next May, but the D23 Expo at the Anaheim Convention Center on August 14, 2015 provided visitors with a first glimpse at some of the wonderful new costumes to be featured in the film inspired by Lewis Carroll\'s literary works and designed by three time Oscar recipient Colleen Atwood.

Mia Wasikowska reprises her role as the titular \'Alice\' and will wear this Mandarin costume in the sequel to the 2010 film, where she will travel through strange new lands to help save Wonderland and stop the evil \'Lord of Time\' and a plot to put the \'Queen of Hearts\' back on the throne.

Apologies for the quality of the images, but the lighting in the convention center made it difficult to get great shots, but at least it was cool to see the colourful outfit from every angle for a change, back, front and sides. Hopefully they\'ll display the costumes again when the movie is released in 2016.

Not much is known about the film yet, although we do know the story involves time and this

\'Young Hatter\' celebration look was included in the movie costume exhibit.

We can only assume through makeup and digital wizardry

Johnny Depp will play a younger version of his character \'Tarrant Hightopp\', as Rhys Ifans will star as the Mad Hatter\'s father \'Zanik Hightopp\'.
