I've never felt so alive. My hair was whipping out behind me, the wind in my face, and the incredible moonlight was all so exhilarating. When, suddenly I opened my eyes, and back to reality I was. Huge Erasers, the school's newest model, were swiftly swooping in the air, chasing after me. Well, I thought, at least the rest of the flock is safe... Ish. They had captured everyone but me. I rocketed through the gaps in the branches when suddenly I 迷失 my balance. A huge branch smacked me in the face. The last thing I remember was falling to the ground, passing out halfway to my death. Now, I find myself in a FREAKING dog cage. The flock must be so disappointed, I thought to myself.
"No, Max. We aren't disappointed. We are so happy! I thought 你 died from that branch." Angel's sweet little voice floated across the room to me.
"Aw, sweetheart. I'm so sorry we are stuck here again"
"It's okay, Max," Nudge exclaimed. "We'll get out, like we always do." Nudge is a sweetie pie, but sometimes she can be a bit talkative. We were all lucky it didn't happen this time.
"Max," Fang whispered from his large 箱, 板条箱 下一个 to mine. "I have a plan. It's pathetic, but I'm pretty sure it will work."
"Well," I 说 snidely, "are 你 going to sit there looking pretty 或者 tell me?"
He flashed me one of his rare grins. "We call Ari in here, agitate him, and get him to smash the 箱, 板条箱 like last time."
"I don't know," I said. "They enhanced the strength of the bars, so it may not work, but it's worth a shot."
"Ok," he prepared his dog whistle.
"Where the heck did 你 get that?! I want one," I joked.
"A place."
"Ok, does everyone know the plan? Iggy?"
"Yup," he said. "I may not look like I'm listening but I am."
"Ok guys," My 心 started beating fast. "Let's -"
"BLOW THIS JOINT!" The rest of the flock 说 with me.
Fang blew the dog whistle hard, and what do 你 know? In came dog boy.
"WHAT DO 你 WANT, FREAKS?"
"Oh, we just wanted to tell 你 to fix your face. It's a bit messed up," Gazzy remarked.
"It's not gonna work this time, little birds." Ari smirked.
"Are 你 sure? Maybe 你 just don't understand the human language fully," Gazzy smiled. "Would 你 like us to teach you?"
Ari whispered under his breath, "What did the therapist tell you? Walk away and count to ten."
Ari walked out of the room. We burst out laughing.
"That was pretty good," 说 Nudge, "but now we need a new plan."
"Well, it's a good thing I brought backup," Iggy pulled a bomb out of his 夹克 pocket.
"Iggs, 你 are a genius and an idiot at the same time," I told him.
"I'll take that as a compliment." Iggy pushed the end of the bomb and tossed it towards the middle of the room.
BOOM!
Our cages busted, we flew out of them and crashed through a window. A few pieces of glass managed to cut my arm, but, I mean, I've dealt with much worse.
"We made it. We're 首页 free!" 天使 exclaimed.
"Enjoy it while 你 can," I remarked, watching whitecoats pour out of the building. I spotted Jeb, and he gave me a thumbs up. I flashed him a thumbs down before turning to the sky, ready to face our 下一个 adventure. I will do whatever it takes to protect my flock. Whatever it takes.
