HELP ME!!!!

OK, so I was in a long distance relationship with a guy I really didn't like, but then I cut it off. Recently on my facebook, a kid that's 2 grades and 2 years younger than me, has been 展示 extreme interest in me.

At first I was just trying to be nice, ex. I would respond to him when he messaged me. Then he 说 "too bad your in 8th grade".

So I said, "what?"
He responded with "it would be weird if we hung out"
Later when I asked if he would wan to hang out if I was in 6th grade.
He 说 "i wanted to but then i found out u were in 8 th grede so i kinda gave up hope"

What do I do!?!??!?!??!?!?!?

I think it just depend on how much 你 like him. If 你 do then it is fine to hang out as 老友记 或者 not. I reckon 你 need to be clear and tell him how 你 feel and ask him why it would be weird form his perspective.
