For many people with a chronic disease, the inability to work can be a difficult and frustrating reality. Despite the false notion that not working must me nice. "An extended vacation." But the lack of a job can have significant consequences to a person in many ways.

Celebrity journalist Randy Jernigan recently shed some light on this very real problem when he was a guest on Donny Max's "Lets Talk About It" radio program. Randy was diagnosed with End Stage Renal Failure shortly after undergoing a quadruple bypass last year. His inability to work his full-time job and contribute, has led him to a case of depression, the writer explained to the radio audience.

Besides his 写作 career, the 'Losing To Win!' 作者 had worked at a full-time position with the State of Utah until he had to give up the job--and his writing.

"Plain and simple, I'm a worker. I've never felt complete without working at something. It's always been hard for me to sit on my laurels when something needed to be accomplished," But now the 作者 finds himself unable to do very little without getting winded and needing to rest.

"There's so much 更多 I want to accomplish with my writing. I have all these creative ideas in my mind--but the mind and body must work together and that's just not happening for me anymore," the 作者 explains. Randy has a 粉丝 book about Ellen DeGeneres ready to go to press. And dabbling in another genre altogether, Randy co-wrote a song for an indie rock band that has made the final cut on their new CD.

"I can hear the frustration in his voice when we talk," says friend Dylan Minnette (Wallows, 13 Reasons Why) It breaks my 心 cause I know all the things he wants to do and his body just won't let him." explained the actor.

"I think I've always been an over-achiever and it's hard on me not being as productive as I once was. But I'm not here to complain. I've always believed that in this life we should except the hand dealt us and do our best to 移动 前锋, 期待 in life. I'm so grateful for my support system. I have some awesome family 老友记 that I can lean on when times are rough," 说 the author.
