I met this girl maybe a 月 before Valentines 日 and I always talked to her. Everyday. About almost everything. She was everything I looked 前锋, 期待 to when I got 首页 from school 或者 足球 practice. Then I began to realize I was falling for her. And I guess it was my first experience with feeling real 爱情 for someone. My 心 literally ached for her. Meanwhile, I had another friend that I had known longer. We were pretty tight. She was a lesbian also but I saw her as a sister. We were all talking and such about things and I was very well aware of the fact that the girl I liked had a boyfriend....

I spent the 日 at Chicago’s Pride Parade. Some 老友记 and I, with The Marin Foundation, wore shirts with “I’m Sorry” written on it. We had signs that said, “I’m sorry that Christians judge you,” “I’m sorry the way churches have treated you,” “I used to be a bible-banging homophobe, sorry.” We wanted to be an alternative Christian voice from the protestors that were there speaking hate into megaphones.

What I loved most about the 日 is when people “got it.” I loved watching people’s faces as they saw...
