Alright all quick message. I'm having surgery tomorrow (Friday) on my arm and wrist...pretty icky things which I won't explain. End of Chapter 21
"You will not do something like that again." Maxine said, and I assumed she was talking to Michael..but when I looked she was staring directly at me.
"What?" I asked, surprised she was talking to me.
"You were foolish to think that 你 would be safe. We warned 你 not to go alone..." She 说 as she shook her head.
"She wasn't alone." Michael said, wincing slightly when he realized what he said.
"Yes, I am aware of that." She growled. "Let's go, we have many things to discuss." She 说 as she turned and smiled at everyone before pushing him through the door.
"Maija," Jan 说 as she began her speech.
I knew that I should just stay here, that I should hear them out and find out what I could but the seventeen 年 old in me won out as I turned and stomped up the stairs to my room, slamming the door loudly before falling on my bed.
Chapter 22
I pulled the scrunche out of my hair, running my fingers through it as the tears flowed down my face. I hated the fact that when I got angry I 迷失 all control of my emotions..which usually meant that I ended up crying...or hitting something. I was laying on my bed, my eyes burning because of the tears 或者 because I hadn't slept that good in a few days.
"Maija?" My aunt Carol called through the door.
"Go away."
"Maija, please talk to us." She 说 softly.
"No..why should I? No one tells me anything, then when 你 finally do then everyone has a right to tell me how I should act, how I should think?" I yelled, my voice getting louder as my anger erupted.
"Please open the door."
"No..just go away. Leave me alone." I screamed as I fell back on the bed.
"Maija, please. We have always talked things out, please don't stop now." Carol called, I knew that she was resting her head against the door like she did when she was frustrated.
"I don't want to talk, not now. Please just leave me alone." I called.
I heard Jan turn and walk back down the stairs, her sigh audible through my door. I knew Carol was still sticking outside my door and at this point I really didn't care...she could sit out there all 日 for all I cared...it served her right.
I went back to my bed, sitting 交叉, 十字架 legged as I played with the 项链 I had gotten from my mother a few days 以前 for my birthday. It seemed so incredibly hard to believe that my life had changed so much, and part of me wished it would go back to the way it was...while another part of me wished that it would stay this way with my new family and friends...and Michael.
I was just starting to think of the way he had looked at me before leaving when I heard a scratching at my window that made me jump so hard I knocked most of the pillows off my bed. I turned and looked at the window as I scooted back towards the door, wondering if this was one of my new...relatives coming to get me.
"Maija?" My aunt Carol called, the handle shaking as she tried the door again. "What's going on?"
I was about to reach back and grab the handle, to let her in when I saw a pair of yellow eyes looking at me through the window.
"Nothing, I just saw my hair. I'm gonna lay down for a bit, I will come find 你 when I get up alright?" I called through the door.
"Alright, I 爱情 you." She 说 as she waited.
"I 爱情 你 too," I called as I smiled at the door.
I heard her footsteps going down the stairs before I ran and opened the window, letting the small brown cat in. A few 秒 later the air around us started to get thick and then 'poof' Michael was standing in front of me, his arms outstretched.
"Michael." I sighed as I stepped closer, meeting him half way.
"I'm sorry I scared you, I just wanted to make sure 你 were alright." He 说 as he hugged me, his breath moving the curls which made me laugh.
"You're so cute when 你 laugh." He 说 before he leaned in and kissed me, his lips soft against mine.
I wasn't sure what I was suppose to do...it's not like I had lots of experience with this whole thing. Michael's hand moved up my back and into my hair, his hand wrapping into my curls as he kissed me. I raised my hand placing it against his back, fighting a smile as I realized I could feel his 心 beat through his 衬衫 and it seemed to be going a bit faster then it had been before. He pulled away from me, his hand still wrapped in my hair as he smiled down at me.
"Are 你 alright?" He asked, his voice a bit deeper then usual.
"Ummmm yeah." I said, my thoughts were so scattered that I wasn't sure what he was talking about at first.
"Maija, seriously..are 你 alright?" He asked as he moved his other hand to hold my face and look into my eyes.
"Yeah, I think so. I'm just overwhelmed." I 说 softly as I tried to look away from him, but his hand held my face where it was.
"Maija, I got a call. We have to leave, your...family is coming for you." He 说 softly, yet sternly.
"I can't just leave, my aunts.." I 说 as I was interrupted.
"Dale and Elise will tell them, we have to go now. Please just grab what 你 need, we're going to have to take the horses."
"Um..Michael, can't we talk to everyone about this?"
"No...someone...we can't stay. Please trust me." He 说 softly, his hands dropping from my face.
"I do." I 说 equally soft.
"Please hurry then, we have to go before they get too close."
I looked at him for a few 分钟 trying to figure out what he wasn't telling me, but his face was like stone..unreadable. I believed Dale when he 说 that Michael was going to be my traveling companion..and because of that I turned and started stuffing things into a backpack as fast as I could.
