After watching all of season four I have come to the opinion that House and Cuddy are deeply in 爱情 with one another they just don't realize it completely. The entire season they were 更多 light-hearted and teasing with each other than I think I have ever seen them. I mean there is a whole episode devoted to the two running pranks on each other. Then there is the infamous yet hilarious 丁字裤 episode in which House ordered his underlings to steal Cuddy's panties. Wilson even thought it was 更多 than a simple challenge when he said, "Some people would call that wooing."
In addition,there is the scene from No 更多 Mr. Nice Guy, when House does a performance review of Cuddy which basically reveals how he sees her:
"What 你 want 你 run away from. What 你 need 你 haven't a clue. What you've accomplished makes 你 proud. But you're still miserable."
It may seem mean to an outsider not used to House's methods but Huddy 粉丝 could easily see that for him to take the time to first, think about who she really is and two, write that out, shows that she is 更多 than a passing fancy like the other women he's been attracted to(i.e.Honey). Is it just me 或者 did I get the hint that he was subtley saying that he is both what she wants and needs? If 你 think about it that would make sense. In the episode,Who's Your Daddy?, he tells her she should get a sperm donor she trusts in which she replies, "Like you?" he then responds "Someone 你 like." She looks at him somewhat surprised. Her look suggested that she does indeed like him. She later comes 由 his office to thank him for all his help with the injections. But she admits that wasn't the only thing she wanted to say. I wonder if this memory is fueling the first part of his review when he says she runs from what she wants meaning a relationship with him, a closer friedship, 或者 just 更多 in general. I do think that House feels that she needs him. The first reason would be that he keeps her in line when she gets too emotionally involved with her cases as others have 说 on this site. Also he brings levity to an otherwise hum-drum job. She may feel exasperated with him but he brings excitement to her life.
As for saying she's still miserable I also look at this as his "twisted form of courtship," as once stated 由 Wilson in 《冰雪奇缘》 when talking about how being mean is how House shows he likes a woman. He is miserable in his own life and she tries to act as though she isn't but deep down they both know the truth. She wants the whole package(kids, husband, someone to grow old with and still have her career), but she feels that each 年 these possibilities are slipping farther away from her. He sees this but I think in his own way he is trying to 显示 her that they can find some kind of happiness together albeit in a rather complicated relationship.
Furthermore,his erotic 幻想 of Cuddy demonstrates 更多 than just animal lust. He conjured her up to help him figure out the case. Of all the people House could have conjured up in his dream for medical advice(Wilson, Cameron, Foreman etc.) he calls on Cuddy. He could have easily pictured Cameron in a seductive way while she gave him medical 建议 but he didn't. This scene also suggested to me that he feels he has the best of both worlds with Cuddy one being sexual stimulation and the other being intellectuel stimulation, both of which have always been important to him.
In terms of Cuddy, well, I personally think she's loved him since season two. But to be 更多 specific to season 4 she seems to be less angry with him and 更多 willing to play his games. The fact that she's doing pranks with him much in the same way he and Wilson have done shows that she is 更多 than just his boss now. I felt that she even enjoyed the game even though he won in the end.
Lastly,the gentle moment between the two in the hospital room spoke volumes about their connection. Cuddy sat 由 House's side when he was in a coma. The small gesture of holding his hand while she slept also showed that she wants him to know he isn't alone even if he feels that way. I also think that she was holding onto him as a way to keep him with her. The old House of seasons past may have pulled out of her grasp but the House of this season seems much 更多 open to her.
In conclusion, I think that these two are definitely in 爱情 but they are also both very afraid of that love. He hides behind snide remarks and she hides behind her Dean of Medicine facade. They like each other, annoy each other, but in the end care about each other. Once they both stop being so afraid of all the negatives of a relationship together they'll find each other. It'll be interesting to see how this unfolds 下一个 season.
