POSSIBLE SPOILERS

Walking casually through the clinic, hands dug deep into his pockets, Wilson made his way towards Cuddy's office. After quietly entering, he just watched her--apparently getting ready to leave. Fussing around her desk, she didn't bother to address his entrance, which she was very aware of.
"Going somewhere?" he asked softly. She just looked up at him, refusing to reply as she kept cleaning off her desk. Realizing she was in a small fit about the whole thing, he shifted towards the 长椅, 沙发 and sat, allowing her to continue at her desk. After about a 分钟 of throwing papers here and there, she stopped abruptly standing over her 台, 办公桌 and glanced over at Wilson.
"If 你 want to go, then just go." he spoke to her calmly. She sighed and bowed her head down before walking over to 加入 him on the couch.
"I don't know what to do." she uttered softly. There was a sense of brokenness in her voice that triggered something within Wilson. His mind had set to 'Dr. Phil'.
"This is House, okay? I find it great that you're at least attempting to try with him. And that's what 你 have to remember when you're confronting him. He'll deflect. No matter what 你 say he'll deflect. But 你 have to get it out of him. 你 have to drag it out 由 all means necessary. Don't back down."
"What if--I don't want to get it out of him." she hesitated to say. Wilson began to mouth out something, but he couldn't gather the words. So he just looked at her, expecting her to go on.
"I still don't know if I even want a relationship with him."
"Are 你 seriously saying this? He's refused to have an actual opinion about 你 since God knows when--now he's practically shouting out 'I 爱情 你 Lisa Cuddy' and you're denying it?"
"He's just going to deny me the same way."
"Are 你 sure 你 know what all of this is about? I'd happily inform you--"
"Just because he says 或者 feels one thing, doesn't mean he'll commit to another. 你 even 说 so yourself Wilson. This is House."
"But--that's not what you're afraid of--" he broke off and just stared at her.
"You should be scared," he started.
"I thought that was what we were talking about--?" Cuddy asked awkwardly.
"Not of the fact that it might just go wrong--but of the fact that it might just go right." he stated rather profoundly. He just stared as Cuddy sustained a confused and slightly offended face.
"Why would I be afraid of that." she asked blankly.
"You're afraid based on who he is, and who 你 are. Afraid that 你 might place yourself in a position where, 你 can't get out when it comes time for the building to fall. You're afraid that there's a chance that he will get out, but 你 won't, and that you'll be 更多 hurt than he would be." he just stared at her carefully, waiting to say something. It took her a bit, but she swallowed and replied to him.
"Why am I afraid of both.." she asked. It seemed as though she was just a little girl. Helpless and unsure of what to do.
"Because--you're in control. 你 make the 下一个 step here. And that step determines if you'll fall 或者 you'll make it another few feet along the road when 你 throw the ball back to him, and he has to make the choice."
"So what do I say to him?" She just stared at Wilson. He gave half a smile, and rested a hand on her shoulder.
"In the moment--you'll know exactly what to say. It won't be a conscious thought. It will be--deeper than that." As he tapped her shoulder, she gave a scoff as she stood up from the couch.
"That helps." she uttered with sarcasm. Wilson just sighed as she slipped on her 夹克 and grabbed her 钱包 from a drawer in her desk. Barely out the door, Wilson stopped her.
"Cuddy!" he called out. Biting her lip, she held onto the door and turned around.
"The ball is in your court." Giving a curt nod, she walked out, slamming the door slightly and prepared herself for a long drive to Mayfield.

"..And when the silence of the night can hold me dear, the coldness creeps to nibble at my feet. These walls have not only closed in, but surround me as my 苦 friends, but in them I cannot confide. And as the darkness swallows me whole, 图片 of the past fill my mind--flashing before my eyes with the terror that wreaks within them. When the bitterness of the air whips my soul, I listen to my breath which somehow puts me at ease. And when the last image appears before my quiet slumber, my head aches, my stomach churns and my 心 slows, only to be heard within my ears. This image greets me with fervor, appearing kind and tender, but it wisps away before I can address. It disappears, and cold sweat begins to gather, the pain surging through my veins...Why is this haunting me, what does it want, why won't it stop. What can I do to end this pain that has surfaced over and over again? She never leaves. She's always here..." House hesitated to finish the last line, due to the penetrating shrieks from one of the patients running around aimlessly through he halls. Slightly frustrated, he clicked his pen shut, and tucked his notebook carefully within his pillowcase.
He lazily walked out of his room to find the nurses injecting a sedative within the patient. Ignoring the scene, he decided to take a trip to the mess hall. His head had been aching all morning, so he tried to ease it with some lunch.
Upon entering, he found the hall a little deserted. He didn't exactly make it to the actual time for lunch, so he was pretty much alone. He wasn't sad however--lunches were almost always hectic, and the lunch line would be faster to 移动 through. After grabbing a 三明治 and a bottled water, coupled with a bag of chips, he sat down in a booth 由 one of the windows. Losing himself for a moment, he was unaware of his surroundings. So unaware, that he didn't see Cuddy enter the hall and walk toward him. He only realized her presence when she approached the booth.
"Can I sit?" she asked. He jerked, snapping out of his trance and just stared at her. Squinting at her, he gave a curt nod and she sat in the booth. Swallowing what was in his mouth, he opened his water as he addressed her.
"What are 你 doing here?"
"I think 你 know why."
"Just hoping for a different answer." he 说 quickly. He kept his eyes focused either out the window, 或者 on his food, even around the hall, just anywhere away from her direction.
"You going to admit to anything?" she asked meekly.
"If you're looking for 答案 I think you've dropped 由 the wrong asylum."
"Deflect all 你 want. I'm not leaving."
"So you're going to waste your whole 日 just to get an answer out of me."
"Plural. I'm going to waste days if I have to, to get answers."
"Well, no questions, so I don't feel the need to provide any answers."
"We both know it now, House. 你 might as well--"
"Confess? I didn't know 你 had a career change. What should I refer to 你 as, Rabbi Cuddy?"
"We both know it, and 你 know know 你 have feelings about it."
"You know if you're really a rabbi now, I strongly suggest 你 keep your night job a secret. I don't think they would approve of a stripper toe be preaching to their people."
"We going to dance all day?"
"Unless 你 leave then yes."
"Fine, good thing I brought my waltzing shoes."
"The waltz is OVER-rated." he uttered with large eyes. Cuddy bit her lip in evident annoyance with him, but fought the temptation to leave. She had to break this down. This--wall of whatever was standing between them.
"House. I've asked 你 this before--I want a straight answer from you. Do 你 want a relationship with me--?"
"--No." he stated quickly. Averting his eyes, keeping them locked on the table, he finished off his 三明治 and gulped half of his water.
"Look at me and say that." she 说 firmly. He finally looked up at her--worst thing to do. Now he couldn't look away. He just swallowed.
"Now. Say it." she 说 with irritation. Blinking twice with a bit lip, he forced something out of himself. He spoke boldly and with no hesitation. Practically--vomiting it out.
"If you're waiting for me to say that I want a relationship with you, that I want you, that maybe I'm in 爱情 with you, I hope 你 enjoy disappointment. Because, 你 were right before when 你 说 that we don't have a personal relationship, because we never could. Don't expect me to come to your door in the middle of the night. 你 know me, which is why 你 should know to stay away. 你 know the damage I can do. 你 know the damage I've done. So. If your expectations when 你 came here were that 你 could manage to get us together, then 你 are surely mistaken. My hallucinations about us were and are irrelevant to how I feel about you. So for 下一个 time--don't raise your expectations so high, because 你 will fall. And 你 will crash." it all just came out at once. In the coldest tone he could ever utter. Cuddy just bowed her head before looking up at him again in soft tears. She did not yell, she did not gain anger. She just smiled with tears streaming down her face.
"My expectations--weren't to get us together. My expectations weren't even to get 你 admit to how 你 feel. I had no expectations. But I hoped. I hoped that--you would have even the slightest care to--ask me what I've been asking 你 for a long while. I was hoping, that you'd let me say my part in this and just--" she stopped. House face began to loosen as the tears fell down her cheek. He just repeated in his mind: Just not now. Not now. Pulling herself together, she finished off.
"Sex is never just sex House. Even in dreams and hallucinations. Especially between certain people. Certain people, with relationships like us. Even the twisted ones." she reached out and rested her hand on 最佳, 返回页首 of his for a moment, before standing up to leave. As her footsteps echoed coupled with an opening and closing of a door, both of them were left disappointed--that someone had to walk away, yet again.

Friday, Cuddy’s Office, a little past 10PM

House was slowly limping through the lobby when a faint glimpse of light, coming from Cuddy’s office, caught his always alert eyes. He looked down at his wristwatch and noticed, with unhidden curiosity, that it was way past her proverbial ‘bed time’. Rubbing his forehead in puzzlement he quickly decided to get to the bottom of this mystery and, in one pivotal move, changed his direction. 秒 later he barged into her office, visibly startling her. She definitely wasn’t expecting to see him.

Cuddy slightly jumped in her seat, immediately...

"I brought 你 something to read." Cuddy 说 as she laid down a copy of The Collected Works of Steinbeck.
House continued to stare out the window. Cuddy sat down on the 床, 床上 watching him from across the room.
"Your team doesn't know the particulars of your absence...I'll tell them however much 你 want them to know." She 说 as she traced a finger over the book.
House sighed deeply but continued to focus on the world that lay beyond the barred window.
"I used your pay check to pay off your heating bill, water bill, and rent for the 下一个 month. Wilson comes 由 your place every few days to clean...

House and Cuddy were sitting underneath a large tree. Branches were spread out, boughs reaching every which way, bringing them comforting shade as they sat back watching over the young students. Cuddy was lying against House with his arms wrapped around her. His grip and stare was intimidating, for it was a warning look, a look of great protectiveness. She was wearing House's leather jacket, which suited her well. The familiar summer breeze blew as it shook the trees leaves. They were both feeling serene. It was peaceful here, bringing back plenty of memories.
"We should get back," Cuddy said...

"Could be a pulmonary embolism." suggested Kutner.
"Or maybe she's just nuts! 你 说 she was yelling her guts out for Cuddy." 说 Thirteen.
"And that makes her crazy?? Have 你 SEEN Cuddy??" replied House as he turned back to the whiteboard.
"Our patient's name is Cuddles??" asked Taub.
"I agree with Thirteen. She's crazy." 说 Foreman.
"Way to stick up for your girlfriend. Seriously, get a room already... 或者 have 你 already done that" House 说 as he raised an eyebrow. He continued 写作 things down on the whiteboard and continued the differential.

Cuddy thought long and hard about House that evening. She thought of how she had rejected him even though, deep in her heart, she wanted and needed him. Lisa Cuddy wasn't one to make house calls to her employee's houses/apartments but she needed to speak to him.

She arrived at House's apartment only 10 分钟 after leaving her own. She knocked on the door and waited. As she waited she noticed the 钢琴 had stopped and knew that House was coming to the door.

She stared at her feet as the door opened.

"Hi," he 说 "What's up?"
"You, again" she 说 with a small smile
"What have I done this time?"...

"So, are 你 going to Michigan for the holidays?" House asked as he lit her fireplace.
"Maybe for New Years but I have too many proposals to work on during Christmas. Why do 你 ask?"
They were still in that weird non-couple couple point in their relationship. They were spending alot of time together at her place and his, but neither had 说 "I 爱情 You," 或者 described the other as a girlfriend 或者 boyfriend yet. Cuddy wanted him to ask her to spend 圣诞节 with him but she wasn't going to drop any hints. She wanted him to decide this all on his own.

"I just wondered if I would have a week...

Wow...
Just wow...
The implications of this are actually huge... in so many ways my mind can’t really cope... so i’m 写作 them down, so me and others can understand what’s going on and digest in fully.

Remember! This is all guess work and discussion with fellow huddies on msn which means that we basically don’t get a objective opinion! lol!

Okay so first, it changes the whole nature of the relationship ( i mean just in general like as 老友记 as well as like proper huddy ) it makes it far...

You're unbelievably annoying,
with every word 你 say,
your unrelenting arrogance,
just pushes me away.
But something drew me near,
in that meeting those many years ago,
I'm not really sure what it is,
but I still can't, and haven't let it go.

You're 苦 and your a pain,
those I can't deny,
but 你 have this special quality,
where to you, I cannot lie.
I think I'm predictable,
but I know that this couldn't be true,
because no one knows my 下一个 move,
no one, except you.

You can be an real ass,
that, everyone can certainly see,
but 你 can be kind,
if 你 really wanted to be.
Despite these imperfections,
for you,...

The remainder of what was left of the 日 had passed rather quickly. She had spent hours upon hours researching and writing, while he just whistled 或者 tried to make a small pyramid out of cards.
“Would 你 try to act your age for just five minutes?”
