Cuddy and House lingered on each other’s lips, desperately wanting 更多 time, but the amount of times, in that twenty-minute make-out session, that House had ran his hands through her tousled curly hair; holding her closer to him, running his finger tips along the skin tight black dress that was hugging every curve of her body.
Pausing for a moment, Cuddy gasped for breath, their eyes opened and a sense of realisation of what they were doing, what they were involved in had only just crossed their minds.
“What the hell am I doing?” Cuddy stepped back and silently muttered words to herself.
House was left trying to decipher what was going through her mind; her hands were massaging her forehead, swaying back and forth, as if she had only just broken the spell that House had kept her under.
“I’m your boss! I’m 表演 so…so irresponsible, I’m out of my mind!” Cuddy was running off, even if she wasn’t expressing her feelings on the outside, House could tell she was shouting and cursing on the inside.
“Oh come on. 你 can’t play that card after you’ve gotten yours!” House’s raised voice seemed to have provoked the angry side of Cuddy as opposed to the ‘blame it on myself’ Cuddy; which probably seemed the right thing to do in the long run.
“I knew this was a mistake. I can’t believe I thought-” Cuddy feigned a laugh, trying to make the situation better.
House looked on. His mind was whirring at one hundred miles per hour, his mind wanted to shut her up with a kiss, but his 心 wanted to hear more; whether it was a sadistic thing, hearing 更多 painful words, 或者 it was the need for the truth.
“What?” House’s voice had reached a sense of calm, as if he had accepted that the worst possible news he could ever hear was unfolding before him, in the darkened office were not too long 以前 they had first met up for after work sex, and here and there 接吻 sessions. It was spell binding.
“I can’t believe I thought 你 were in 爱情 with me.” Her words were dry, filled with the same emotion a chair feels when it’s sat on five hundred times a day; it was conceived through years of 心 numbing experiences.
Shaking her head, telling herself on the inside how much of an idiot she had been for believing such a romantic idea. A grimace appeared on her face, the empty vacuum between them was getting wider.
“I’m sorry. I’m sorry that I, led 你 on.” His sincerity was clear in his ice blue eyes, and Cuddy knew this.
“Don’t patronise me House. We’re going to have to forget this ever happened.”
“Two months?! All the kissing, the moaning and groaning, having sex in the hospital?”
Cuddy folded her arms, watching carefully if House tried to come over and get too close again.
“Either 你 forget, 或者 你 leave, and there’s only one thing 你 can do that will satisfy me.”
Her words were strongly put across, her lips were saying one thing when her eyes were saying something else; her eyes betrayed her, they were filled with regret the 分钟 she gave him the ultimatum.
Silence, silence and angst filled the air around them. The only sound was the cane hitting the carpet as House walked towards her. His face was relaxed, his breathing was steady, but Unbeknownst to Cuddy, his 心 was racing.
“That’s where it’s all flawed. If I forget, we can never work together, ever again. If I leave, it’s the same as option A. So I guess it doesn’t really make a difference what I choose.”
Cuddy looked pensive, unsure as to what he would do, and what he would say.
“So?” Her green eyes were filled with woe, as if awaiting either a life time in jail, 或者 a death sentence.
“So. I guess that means I’m leaving.” House kept his confident face throughout the last thirty 秒 he looked at her, memorized her, and felt her.
Walking away, this time was the hardest thing he has ever had to do, but for Cuddy, getting an answer she didn’t want was equally difficult.

When does 爱情 become something we need, rather than something we want? 爱情 was seen as something special a long time ago. Now 爱情 is what we are expected to have with us everyday of our lives. 爱情 is common currency when 你 are a teenager, but turns to worthless pennies the older 你 get. Do we not care about the substance of what 爱情 was and not what it has been made into today 由 commercialisation from American 电影院 and 电视 commercials and soap operas? Only when we experience 爱情 for real, can we 评论 and judge others who are in Love. 爱情 means something different to everyone. Not two people’s feeling of 爱情 is the same. Why do we generalize, rationalize and compartmentalize Love? 爱情 is and will continue to be an enigma. Only a handful of people will ever unlock it and witness its true beauty and essence. The essence we all crave.
Love.
Love.
