I was of course playing Poe's album Haunted while I read the book. It was wonderful to hear them echo each other. But it got a little too close for comfort at one point. Walk the Walk was playing and when I hear "There's someone knocking in the wall. Was it like an echo? Bah dah ba-ba"- and I read "bah. dah. ba-ba."- Daisy sings it after they drag Jed and Wax out of the hall. The exact moment I read those words I heard them too. It was pretty creepy.

I learned that it was a reaaaallly bad idea to read this book in a dark room while high. I ended up on the floor, trembling at 3 AM and I had to play escape from monkey island to calm me down. I think I was at the part where Johhny warns you to not look beyond the periphery of the page.
