I think so.
They're both supernatural creatures that take the shape of a human.
They both have special, inhuman abilities and use these powers for good, rather than evil.
They both have normal human characteristics.
I think they're both completely different people, but since they're both popular characters their bound to be compared
But I have to admit you can compare personalities...but as for anything else, no you shouldn't
Technically, Edward isn't a human (or homo sapien). In Breaking Dawn Carlisle told Bella that vampires and were-wolves/shifters have a different number of chromosomes than humans.
Harry is a wizard. Edward is a vampire. Harry is a growing boy experiencing everything for the first time. Edward is living through everything again and cannot grow older any more. Harry has the task of saving the world on his shoulders. Edward has the task of saving Bella but it was his own choice,
So no, i don't think you can compare them because they are two completely different people, and are in completely different situations (Harry Main character and the story is from his point of view, Edward is not the Main character and the story is from Bella's point of view)
