I remember visiting this website once...
It was called Game of Thrones IMAX screenings delayed, new premiere 日期 and ticket sales announced! | Watchers on the 墙 | A Game of Thrones Community for Breaking News, Casting, and Commentary
Here's some stuff I remembered seeing:
Fans have been wondering when we’ll learn more about the IMAX showings of
episodes (and a season 5 trailer!) this January, announced on January 6th. There’s been no theater sites posted or ticket sales being offered on websites anywhere, leaving viewers to wonder what the deal was, with the posted IMAX premiere date of January 23rd coming soon.
Today, HBO announced via official press release that the reason for the delay in information is that, due to the unexpected and overwhelming fan response to this event, HBO and IMAX have decided to expand the opening of
in IMAX theaters, causing the show to debut in theaters one week later than planned.
will open in upwards of 200 theaters on January 29th, starting at 10PM, and showings will continue through February 5th.
More details, including confirmed cities, below the cut!
Tickets will officially go on sale on www.imax.com/gameofthrones starting Friday, January 16.  To date, confirmed cities include Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami, Montreal, New York, San Antonio, Seattle, Toronto and Washington, D.C., to name a few. A full list of venues is available on the website and fans can check local listings in the coming days for more available IMAX locations.
Moreover, the first 300 IMAX ticket holders for the Thursday night opening show time at participating IMAX theatres will receive a commemorative
poster from well-known illustrator Robert Ball (www.beautifuldeath.com), who designed interpretive images of the most iconic deaths in each episode.
The IMAX website does appear to be loading locations showing
now. Good luck with getting a ticket and finding a location in your area! I’m definitely going. It’s a shame we’ll have to wait a week longer for a trailer, but the expanded roll-out is great.
UPDATE: Oops, we crashed the IMAX site already. Well, the tickets aren’t on sale yet, so check back with the IMAX site later today or tomorrow and give their poor servers a break.

The wait for the season 5 trailer is approaching season 3 territory (Jimmy Kimmel live)
The nearest screening is about 45 minutes away so that’s not too bad. Hopefully I can convince my roommate to go!
Heh. You’re lucky. I’m almost considering traveling across the pond to New York or something just to do this
No!! I don’t want to wait that long for the trailer!
But I guess this news is nice for American fans.
The U.S. Still does not have free healthcare (obamacare is cheaper healthcare but not free, cost ~several hundred $ a month), so atleast you have that going for you :p.
But on the flip side our U.S. Income Tax rate is ~30%. Much lower than Europe
The relationship Americans have with the concept of taxes is very weird for many of us Europeans. For the Tea Party crowd it seems they are pure evil, but even in the other side it’s seen like a necessary evil at best, which is strange for me.
Psh. 2 IMAX theaters in Syracuse and we get NUTHIN. NYC is 3 1/2 hrs. Thanks, HBO. :-b
I don’t know if there was some kind of miscommunication or hiccup, but the tickets are already on sale at least at my theater.
Sweet! It’s only playing in one location in my state but it happens to only be 5 minutes from my house!
Edit: It says tickets go on sale on Friday, but I just bought mine through Fandango…so everyone should check that out
This is fan art. Jordan’s Furniture is just dumb.
I’d really appreciate it if people stopped posting it, especially without spoiler warnings. (It’s not a possible spoiler, it IS a spoiler.)
I’m glad to hear that that this event is being expanded, even if it means that we have to wait an extra week! The more people who have an opportunity to one of these screenings, the better. As it happens, the IMAX theater closest to my location will be participating in this event, so I will definitely be going.
I wasn’t sure that I would try to go on the first night … but if there’s chance to get a piece of art done by Robert Ball, then I will
alter my plans. I think that Robert’s work on the Beautiful Death series was absolutely phenomenal, and I would love to have a full-sized version of one of those posters. If my local theater is participating in that particular promotion, then I will gladly fight off 300 other people and first night traffic to secure a ticket for opening night.
Sorry. The link’s gone now. I really wanted it taken down from the Jordan’s website and how else would they know they were in the wrong?
House Ray is excited it will actually be showing in Montgomery, AL where we relocated for work. Boom!
I’m seeing the same thing. Did you purchase the tickets and get a confirmation? I’m not sure I want to proceed until I know the whole situation…
EVERYONE CHECK THEIR LOCAL THEATRE WEBSITE OR FANDANGO.COM!
So will any of you guys can capture the trailer in phone and release it for those of us who are on the other side of continent or it is not allowed…
Yes, I purchased through fandango and have received my email confirmation.
The U.S. historically has a distrust for taxes, we went to war over it (taxation without representation, propaganda by Samuel Adams, etc).
Also Americas feel distrust towards the government given the low approval ratings of congress each and every year. Many feel the government cant spend their citizens income more wisely than the citizens themselves(corruption being a factor. Projects get green lighted such as the bridge to nowhere and other wasteful spending).
A 2 party system generally re-enforces this problem with one side leaning too much to the right and wanting to cut significant amount of spending and one leaning too much to the left increasing spending and taxes. If they increase spending and don’t increase taxes than the spending is financed by debt and the deficit increases)
Good news for the people in the US, bad news for everyone else. Hopefully they’ll make the trailer available after they had the first IMAX screenings, there’s no point in torturing people one whole week… right? Eh, I can hope…
Nearest IMAX theater to me from that list is 3 hours away. That’s disappointing
There are countries with free health care in Europe??
I’m studying and have currently no income but still have to pay about 160 € health care because the min expected income for students is something like 900 € a month on which the % amount for healthcare is calculated. wtf
ohhh and: No nearby Theatres Playing “Game of Thrones® The IMAX Experience (Season 4, Episodes 9 and 10)”
Hey Sue, I know you just posted an update saying that IMAX is getting flooded with people and we should give them a break because the tickets aren’t on sale yet, but they definitely are. I went to the IMAX site, put in my city, they gave me my theaters and a buy tickets button which took me straight to fandango where you can currently buy tickets. I wouldn’t want someone to miss out, because they don’t think the tickets are on sale yet…
