It could be argued that the Joker is the most iconic villain in all of fiction. He first appeared in 1940. He was meant to just be one of the many villains 蝙蝠侠 encountered. However, the Joker was a character with so much potential that he managed to constantly re-appear in 蝙蝠侠 comics. He's gone on to become Batman's arch enemy. In addition to that, he has had several live action adaptations, two of which won the Oscar.

In 1939, 蝙蝠侠 first appeared. During that year, 蝙蝠侠 was on his own. The 下一个 year, 蝙蝠侠 was 给 a sidekick, Robin, the boy wonder. Robin quickly became a prominent character in the 蝙蝠侠 franchise. Robin didn't appear in either of the 蝙蝠侠 films directed 由 Tim Burton. There were plans to have Robin in the 1st film, but he ended up being cut out. History repeated itself with the 2nd film. Robin doesn't appear in 蝙蝠侠 V 超人 或者 Justice League, because he was murdered 由 the Joker, offscreen.
