It could be argued that the Joker is the most iconic villain in all of fiction. He first appeared in 1940. He was meant to just be one of the many villains 蝙蝠侠 encountered. However, the Joker was a character with so much potential that he managed to constantly re-appear in 蝙蝠侠 comics. He's gone on to become Batman's arch enemy. In addition to that, he has had several live action adaptations, two of which won the Oscar.
