The team looked at eachother desperately, as the humans got nearer. A thought struck Private.
"Emma use your powers to make it disappear." Private 说 trying to stay calm. Emma nodded, and in a moment the machine vanished into thin air. Then the humans got into viewing point of the habitat, unaware that a 网球 ball machine was there a few mere 秒 ago. The penguins quickly got into their cute and cuddly routine, twirling around in the water, shaking their tails and belly sliding around, with big 小狗 dog eyes.
"Awwwwwww." The humans exclaimed, smiling at the penguins and their adorable antics. When they hit maximum cuteness, the humans let out another 'awwwww', and started throwing 鱼 in. Emma looked at the 鱼 disgustedly, and backed away from the pile of stink, as her team tucked in. Alice watched this, and grew suspicious.
Why isn't that 企鹅 eating fish? She wondered. That's their first lot of 食物 today, she should be starving. She added. I'll have to take a look at her later.
After a while the humans went away, and the penguins were about to hop in the fishbowl, when Alice came into the habitat, and picked Emma up. Emma gasped in surprise, and tried to wriggle free.
"Don't fight it Em, you'll just get into trouble." Kowalski advised, sounding slightly worried.
"Are 你 mad man? Who knows what Alice is going to do!" Skipper argued. "Fight it sis!" He shouted. Emma decided to go with Kowalski's advice. She stayed still, as Alice carried her to the vet. She put he down on the vet table, and Emma looked up curiously.
"Thank 你 Alice." The Doctor 说 merrily. He then looked down at Emma. "Now lets find out why 你 weren't eating your fish.
Simple, I don't like it. Emma thought to herself. The Doctor ran some test on her, then took some blood, something that Emma really didn't like.
"Well she seems perfectly healthy." The Doctor remarked, looking at Emma with curiousity.
"Maybe she just doesn't like fish?" Alice suggested.
"Don't be silly Alice, every 企鹅 likes fish." The Doctor replied. He then looked thoughtful. "Just incase, i'll put a 鱼 down and see her reaction." He decided. He got a 鱼 out of the 食物 cabinet, and put it in front of Emma. Emma looked at it and backed away, her flippers over her nostrils.
"Eww." Emma 说 to herself.
"Hmm, I'll put something else down." The Doctor said, going over to an oven, where he was cooking himself dinner. Emma looked at the clock, which read 3pm, and looked back at The Doctor.
What a silly time to have dinner. She thought. The Doctor, pulled out a piece of turkey coated in 橙子, 橙色 breadcrumbs, and shaped like a dinosaur. Emma had no idea what it was but it smelled good. He put it down in front of her, and she picked it up, sniffing it curiously. Alice and the doctor watched her expectantly. She sighed and took a bite. Her eyes widened, and she immediately tucked into the rest of it, devouring it in under 5 seconds.
"Well she liked the turkey dinosaur." The Doctor remarked. Emma's jaw almost dropped.
I just ate another bird. She thought, feeling astonished. Then she thought reasonably. Well it's just the same as humans eating pig, 或者 cow, since they're technically a part of the same bit of the animal kingdom as humans. Emma reminded herself.
"It seems that this 企鹅 doesn't like fish, but likes turkey. So you'll have to get the humans to give the penguins turkey aswell." The Doctor advised, picking Emma up, and handing her to Alice.
"Fine, whatever." Alice replied, looking annoyed. She carried Emma back, muttering to herself. "Why do 你 have to be different." Alice 说 as they reached the 企鹅 habitat. She put her back in, where the other were waiting worriedly.
"Emma thank god your ok." Private said, hugging her in relief. Emma hugged back, 蝴蝶 in her stomach.
"Atidheydotoyou?" (What did they do to you?) Rico asked.
"Oh nothing bad, they were just ting to find out why I wouldn't eat fish, and now they're getting the humans to throw on different 食物 for me, when we do our cute and cuddly antics." Emma explained, looking pleased.
"That's good, now 你 won't have to watch us eat." Skipper commented, smiling at his sister.
"I know right?" Emma replied, happily. They hopped back into the fishbowl, and into the HQ.
"Hey Em, shall we work on a new invention?" Kowalski asked, looking hopeful.
"Sure." Emma replied. "What should we make?"
"Hmmm, what about a freeze ray?" Kowalski suggested. Emma was about to say, that she could freeze people with her powers, but she saw the sparkle in Kowalski's eyes, and she stopped herself.
"That sounds fun." Emma agreed, walking into the lab with Kowalski. She got her drawstring bag, and pulled out her phone, and put on music, as usual. It was almost a tradition to have 音乐 playing when they worked now. They discussed that parts they would need, and they were lucky that all of them, except for the Extreme Coolant, which could be found in any mechanic shop. They quickly got to work, first of all they had to make the core, which consisted of may wires, and a complex circuit, fitted with a switch, and lab grade batteries. The two penguins worked on this for many hours, tapping their feet along to the music. (Kowalski knew most of the songs off 由 心 由 now) As dusk began to fall, they had done most of the core. They glanced at the clock (which read 9pm), and stopped working.
"I think we should call it a night now." Kowalski suggested.
"Yeah, and it's your turn to choose the movie we watch tonight." Emma reminded him.
"Ooh yes." Kowalski remembered, beaming at Emma. The two of them strolled out of the HQ and Skipper realised what they were about to say.
"Aw, just don't put something too geeky on." He said, looking annoyed.
"Urm well 你 see I was going to put....." Kowalski trailed off.
"Star wars on." Emma finished. "Any problem with that Skips?" She asked, crossing her flippers. Skipper rolled his eyes, but didn't say anything. Emma was a little worried that Kowalski would be annoyed that she read his mind, but he just smiled at her. Emma smiled back, as she got out 星, 星级 Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi. Emma lied down on her stomach, got a 枕头 out, and rested her head on it. Private shared the 枕头 with her as they watched the film start. Near the end of the film Private fell asleep, and Skipper and Rico did too. Emma and Kowalski tried not to giggle. As the film finished, Emma was wondering if she should 移动 或者 not.
"Em I think we should just stay down here tonight." Kowalski advised. "You never know, maybe sleeping near other people will help your nightmares." He added. Emma looked thoughtful, and she eventually nodded. She settled onto the pillow, feeling surprisingly calm, with Private other right and Kowalski on her left. She fell asleep in a heartbeat.
