This chapter of the 潮流粉丝俱乐部 user identification guide is all about Medal whores. Maybe 你 think 你 may have come across one a while back, 或者 you’re just not sure how to classify the one 你 just met? Check out this handy guide!
The Spammer: Forget about actually helping a club, this user just wants their medal, and doesn’t give a rip how they get it. Have 你 guessed that this type of Medal Whore uploads tons of useless, similar, 或者 identical contributions just to get a medal? If so, congratulations, you’re correct. Think pages and pages of picks with maybe just the choices flipped around, heaps of almost identical images, (They aren’t the same-just look really, really closely!), stacks of video’s that have already been uploaded, just these are 由 different YouTube users, etc. Sadly, 你 can’t really 报道 these people, since their contributions, possibly 由 a bit of a stretch, technically ARE relevant. And no, this person doesn’t really care if they’re clogging up the 俱乐部 image/video/links section, nor do they respond to polite 评论 about how they really aren’t helping the club at all. These people tend to not announce that they want medals, since they either don’t want to make it even 更多 obvious they’re Medal Whoring, 或者 they don’t want to get called on it. These people also labor under the delusion that they’re actually helping the Spot in 问题 they’re whoring on.
NOTE: Not ALL people who act like this are Medal Whores. Some people just spam for reasons that are beyond me.
Classification: Slightly dangerous, as they can lead 你 to fits of rage if 你 happen to stumble across their whoretributions. They also tend to leap into an angry sort of denial if 你 ever make any attempt to call them on their spam, and often turn the whole thing around and get mad at 你 for even daring to SUGGEST such a thing, (“OHMIGOSH, how could 你 SAY that my fifty pages of similar Artist XYZ 音乐 video stills are identical and clogging up the image feed?! 你 HEARTLESS JERK! *sulk*). Best way to deal? Just flip to a different club and hope their Spamtributions will at least be covered up the 下一个 time 你 visit that spot. If you’re REALLY unlucky and this type of Medal Whore has hit every club 你 frequent, just log off and try to resist the urge to smash your computer.
The Beggar: If anything at all can be 说 for the Spammers, at least they’re not lazy. At least they’re making an attempt to “earn” their medals, unlike the Beggars. These people make a few contributions, usually just enough to try and make it look like they’re not just there for that medal, then the post, PM, and IM people to “Please please PLEEEEEEASE” 粉丝 their “oh-so-awesome” contributions because they really want that medal. Also, as should now be obvious, these people don’t try and hide the fact that they just want a medal. They almost seem to take pride in the fact that they’re a Medal Whore. They also don’t tend to be that grateful either. For example:
Beggar: Hey, will 你 please 粉丝 my stuff in this spot? Here’s a link:
You: *I’ll just do it to shut them up* Fine…. Ok, I fanned a few of your images.
Beggar: Just a FEW?! Oh…..fine. Thanks, I guess. Bye, I’m not gonna talk to 你 again unless I need something, and that is of course the reason I even talked to 你 in the first place.
They are also the type to just announce that they want a medal, often on the spot wall, 或者 post 答案 asking people to help them get a medal/how to get a medal. If 你 spot one of these, proceed with caution.
Classification: Harmless but annoying, unless 你 tell them to your faces you’re not going to help them. Then, expect explosions. The upside: They don’t clog up your 更新 feed. The Downside: They’re annoying and hard to avoid.
There are generally a few ways of dealing with this type of Medal Whore if they bug 你 to 粉丝 their stuff:
a. 粉丝 the stuff just to shut them up, then later go un-fan it all.
b. Ignore, Ignore, Ignore. If they post on your wall, 删除 it. If they PM you, don’t’ respond. They chat 你 on meebo, block them 或者 pretend you’re not there. Eventually, when they see you’re unresponsive, they’ll 移动 on to another victim. This doesn’t always work though, since some Beggars can be sneaky, and start an innocent-seeming conversation before bugging 你 to aid them in their Medal Quest.
c. Flat out refuse. Say no. 你 can take this the polite route and just tell them you’re not a 粉丝 of whatever the club is for, 或者 你 can just be direct and lecture them about Medal Whoring and how bad/annoying/etc. it is. Lets just say that if 你 take this route, be prepared to waste a lot of time on explanations, 或者 to get hate from the Beggar and their friends. a and b are generally better options.
The Controversial Sneak: This type of Medal Whore is often mistaken for being unintelligent, 或者 a troll. The way they tend to operate is to post something controversial somewhere on a spot, and just wait. If it’s controversial 或者 stupid enough, people will 评论 the heck out of it, therefore speeding this 粉丝 up on their way to their Medal.
For example, they might post things like, I only like novel XYZ because the characters are hot, 或者 I think that Global Warming could easily be stopped if we just built a giant air conditioner. After people have 评论 the crap out of their post, they often act as though they’ve been convinced 由 their arguments, and then desperately seek some other ridiculous opinion to go public with.
It’s often hard to identify this type of Medal Whore, for obvious reasons, but be on your guard. And if 你 see a post that seems too stupid to be true, steer clear!
Classification: Completely harmless, and generally less annoying that most other kinds of Medal Whore. Best strategy is to just not 评论 on their posts. The nice part is that they’re easy to avoid, and unlike other types of Medal Whores, confrontations are rare, as they aren’t soliciting specific people to help them on their way to Medal-dom.
NOTE: Not everyone who posts ridiculous 或者 purposely controversial things is a Controversial Sneak. Some people are just plain stupid.
The 评论 Queen/King This person is similar to the Controversial Sneak[/u], but opts for a different tactic. Instead of apparently embarrassing themselves publicly, they simply post things that generally lots of people will 评论 on, just for different reasons than with the sneak.
For example:
A 论坛 post, 1000 Reasons why Musician ABC Rocks! 或者 1000 Reasons Actor PQR is better than Actor TUV
What makes this type of Medal Whore somewhat likable is that they can actually post things that help 或者 encourage a spot, and commenting on their Forums/picks/answers/etc, can be fun, especially if 你 REALLY think that Actor PQR kicks TUV’s butt, and you’re not afraid to say so!
NOTE: Not everyone who posts stuff like this is a Medal Whore. Some people are just trying to have fun. This is just a technique some Medal Whores may potentially use.
Classification: Completely harmless. Tend to not be annoying, and can make good contributions to a spot. Often, through their whoring, they can actually improve a spot 或者 encourage others to join, and really, who cares about any ulterior motives of theirs in that case?

OK guys! Today we'll talk about ratings! Many of us contribute things to 潮流粉丝俱乐部 and it's great!!! Because we are working on it! We are looking for images, videos, 链接 to help other people! But it happens a lot that some people rate it low!!! 你 know it sucks when you've being searching for something, contributing it and HERE 你 ARE - 你 see one 星, 星级 rating for all 你 did!!! I don't understsand such people. If 你 don't like the content DON'T rate it at all!!!! 或者 at least leave comments!!! Here's the example I uploaded 图片 on spot A. I did a great job looking for them! After I was waiting so they could 上传 on Fanpop. And in an 小时 I see one 星, 星级 rating which means garbage!!! It is so insulting! I'm sure 你 guys had the same situaions. We can do nothing about it. But people, APPRECIATE other Fanpoppers. Don't visit the spots 你 hate, don't hurt people 你 hate, DON'T RATE LOW! Please, 潮流粉丝俱乐部 is one and there are a lot of us so let's live in peace:)
