I think that since Amy Lee has more fame and the fans love her more than the other band members jealousy ensued so they quit on her.

Really i'd have to say both, although i agree the band probably was jealous of her, i think the ex members are also very under rated. Really members of a band should be treated fairly equal considering they all contribute to the sound. But then again members who dont contribute to the writing process also shouldnt take to much spotlight.
In conclusion im totally on the fence on this one lol :)

i think i read somewhere that it was Ben Moody who started disagreeing with the direction their music was going and the rest of them sided with him instead of Amy

It was not Amy's fault! All the original band members were Ben's friends at first, so they followed their friend's lead. Either way, Amy couldn't fire them, only the manager can!

To be honest, Amy was going through a lot at the time. But knowing that they had a change in band members, it's best to go with one of the band members faults.
