Eyes wide awake but squeezed tightly shut
The dark consumes it all
Makes 你 relive it all
Sleepfully waking with a cry
Kicking and thrashing
At the hands around your throat
But no one is there
And you're still dreaming
Screaming with your lips sealed shut
Panting and sweating
The dark thrives off your suffering
Hovering over 你 as your mind drifts off
Waiting for it's new night of games
Curled tightly into a ball under the sheets
Sitting, refusing to lay back down
Eyes heavy but unwavering
Scrolling through a screen for something to distract you
Time passes mind unable to shut off
Laying atop covers, counting backwards
Willing sleep come find 你 in the morning
Without its tortures and torments
But insomnia fell for you
Holding 你 tightly in it's sweet embrace
Choosing to rather sit and be with 你 awake
Than to watch 你 in a 更多 vulnerable state
Sleep
These dark circles and lidded eyes
Are not 由 choice 或者 desire
Rest sounds rather appealing
Though sleep haunts me with my past
And threatens me with my future
So insomnia held me tight
But now won't let go
