Get Connected recently asked 5,000 children and young people under 25 across the UK about the issues they face in the modern world, how well they feel supported and how they prefer to seek help if they face a personal problem. We found:

Two thirds of those we asked felt isolated and lonely due to problems they have faced

We\'re launching this report to coincide with Safer Internet Day, as we found that when young people do need help, they mostly turn to the internet for answers.

Regrettably, advice and support available online is not always reliable, can be potentially harmful or just increases their worries – almost half of those surveyed by Get Connected said that they were more worried after looking for information online. Only 7% told us that they would double-check information they found online with another source.
