The scene where Elena watches an unknowing Damon just be was such an inspired choice, so illustrative of both his character and her changing feelings towards him without either of them saying a word.

When is hand holding the hottest? When it's 你 and Damon Salvatore in a motel 床, 床上 in the middle of night and nowhere. The little hand touch after a meaningful conversation is too much for Elena, and she rushes out of bed.

The 显示 has done an excellent job of slowly building the trust between these two until that trust and mutual attraction could only logically be dealt with in a kiss, as it finally was in the end of this episode.
