~Not Mine. Taken from the 都市传说 wiki~

We've all had those times, late at night. Maybe you're a little tired, and 你 turned off your lamp to help 你 relax, so it's just 你 and the dull glow of the screen. 你 hear a little noise behind 你 and jump. 你 turn around, and there's a jet-black silhouette of a man in the corner. But as your eyes focus, 你 realize it's only just your curtain. Damn cat was playing with it again, got it all twisted up. The house was just settling, and your mind jumped to a dark place. Nothing to be afraid of, not really.

That's pareidolia. It happens to everybody at some point, so 你 shrug it off and go on with your day.

But what if 你 don't? Is there a tiny, slim chance that you're getting a peek behind the veil of reality, just for a 分裂, 拆分 second? There on the edge of your awareness, where shapes become ambiguous and the rational part of your brain thinks it isn't worth the effort ... maybe that's where the monsters live. So 你 start paying a little 更多 attention. Maybe you're the kind that's afraid of missing out on something, even if that something wants to shove thumbtacks under your eyelids.

Maybe that's just me.

The days go by, and you've always got one little corner of your mind focused on that fuzzy line where vision ends. Nothing noteworthy happens for the longest time, and 你 start telling yourself what a silly idea this was. Monsters? Please. Just when 你 start to lay the idea to rest for good, it happens again. A dark shape, something less than a man but 更多 than an animal. Two coal-red eyes that ooze hunger. Still, it's only a vague impression of evil. 你 whip your head around, your 心 hammering at your ears. Just the damn lamp.

Maybe your brain is just 展示 你 what 你 expect to be there, 你 reason. After all, the mind plays tricks to keep reality in line with expectations. Still, you're really interested now. Whatever this is has your attention, and you've never been able to let a thing rest once it piques your curiosity.

你 become even 更多 vigilant. In the back of your mind, 你 take stock of your peripheral vision. 你 try to push out further, expanding your vision beyond that impossible-to-place boundary between sight and darkness. You're dedicated to this crazy task now. For nearly three weeks straight 你 probe, but to no avail. The curtain isn't drawing back any further. 你 see nothing out of the ordinary, so 你 give it a rest, once and for all. It's silly to think there's some hidden place between realities, that of billions and billions of people you're the first to notice. 你 always wanted to be special, didn't you?

So 你 go back to the humdrum of daily routine. Maybe 你 were just bored. And then one night, you're back at the computer 阅读 about some political snafu in the Middle-East. You're not really into it, but 你 couldn't be bothered to find something better to do, not right before bed. The room is dark. It's just like that first night, 你 muse. The creature colored like 电视 static standing at your shoulder nods slowly and wait that's not right.

你 jump sideways, twisting as 你 fall. Nothing there, but nothing in its place either. No lamp, no curtain, no poster, nothing but air in that empty 太空 where it stood. 你 stare for a good while, rubbing the nasty bump on your head. Finally, 你 step to the 厨房 to grab an ice pack from the freezer. Troubled thoughts twist at your brain. Two is a coincidence; three is a trend. You're hooked now. Maybe your mom always told 你 to quit while 你 were ahead.

Maybe that's just me.

You're beginning to see the pattern. Nothing happens when you're really paying attention. When you're waking up, in that time before your brain clicks on, when the sun is just rising? Sure. When your guard is down and you're halfway to daydreaming? Definitely. In those gaps where your critical mind gets childlike, that's where the cracks start to show. And weren't there monsters in your closet when 你 were little, before 你 knew better?

You're at the office the 下一个 day, typing away at your computer. Your brain disengages, and 你 think back to the night before. It still has 你 spooked. A thought zigs by, and you're reminded of those nights laying in 床, 床上 when 你 were just 拍击, smack, 味道 between awareness and dreaming: 你 could watch your body relax and your breathing even out. Kind of like walking the edge of a razorblade. So, god help you, 你 start practicing. It's kind of like meditation. 你 spend some time every morning and night lounging in bed, drinking in that feeling of being on the edge of wakefulness. 你 can feel it like an intuition, and 你 start recalling that body memory in the office while you're filling out your busywork.

One fine morning, you're doing your practice and a gaunt, lanky creature with skin the palest white and black holes where its eyes should be strolls past the opening of your cubicle - just to your right, plain as day. 你 nearly repeat the stunt with the chair again, but 你 manage to land square on your feet this time. 你 peek your head around the cubicle wall, and see the back of your coworker Craig as he walks away. He slows to a halt, looks over his shoulder, and gives 你 a wink before continuing on his way. 你 and Craig aren't that friendly, and 你 think 你 see a smirk on his face. But he was too quick for 你 to get a good look.

It's just your imagination, right?

... right?

hey, my name is Kira. I'm going to tell 你 about my experience.

I was over at a 老友记 place and we both 爱情 horror, Ouija boards and Creepypasta. We always read Creepy Pastas late at night to try and scare ourselves. But one night we were lucky enough to meet face-to-face to one of our favourite characters. I would always say, "I wish I could meet Jeff the Killer!" and as they say... be careful what 你 wish for...

It was around1 a.m. when we kept hearing footsteps outside it was getting closer and closer. When my friend (lets call her Stephanie) saw something 移动 past the window I was excited...

So i was scrolling through the horror on demand when I saw this movie called Always Watching : Marble Hornets I saw Slender Man on it and 说 "Wtf?" so I started watching it I only got about halfway through it until I had to go to sleep.
But then I went online and found a bunch of marble hornets stuff because I'm super into CreepyPasta and I saw Masky in one of them and I basically screamed in the Freaking Library.
I had no idea that the two wrer connected so that was really amazing that I stumbled upon that!

Celene was a girl who often found herself 迷失 in thought.  She Imagined herself flying away from her 首页 where her dad would get drunk and beat her. She had long blonde hair and brown eyes just like her mother who passed away five years 以前 when she was ten. Her mother had also been a victim of her dads abuse. As Celene was walking to school one 日 she was so 迷失 in her mind that she didn't see the speeding car coming towards her as she crossed the street. All she heard was a loud screech and every thing went black. When a dim light lit up she saw a man with red skin and deep black eyes...
