I thought it would be fun to put together a nice 文章 about why I 爱情 cozies so much. Maybe somebody outside the site will see this, 或者 maybe just maybe somebody already on 潮流粉丝俱乐部 will randomly stumble upon it and become intrigued. Either way, if somebody listens 或者 nobody listens I just have one thing to say - I. Love. Cozy. Mysteries. and I want everyone to know how great they are so here is a short 列表 of some of the many reasons cozies are so great.
What IS a cozy mystery?
Cozy mysteries, also referred to as "cozies", are a subgenre of crime fiction in which sex and violence are downplayed 或者 treated humorously, and the crime and detection take place in a small, socially intimate community.
I 爱情 cozies because...there is one for almost every single major American holiday including seasons.
Do 你 ever just get in the mood to read a 圣诞节 book around the holiday? Get in the spirit for Halloween? What about a summer read for when you're on the 海滩 (or just dreaming 你 were)? Itching for a St. Patrick's 日 murder? Cozies have that and more! I'm never left wanting for a certain time of the year.
I 爱情 cozies because...there is SO much variety!
Majority of cozy 图书 typically have one heroine whose voice is heard throughout the book, and they usually own their own 商店 in a small town (ordinarily their hometowns). But so much can and has been done with this in the genre, 你 have such a large variety to choose from! Along with present 日 normal series, 你 also have your past and 邪恶力量 as well. Always wanted to read about an Amish quilt shop? Look no further! Chocolatier✔, wedding planner✔, restaurateur✔, interior decorator✔, farmer✔, 床, 床上 and breakfast owner✔. I could go on and on! 你 will never find two cozies exactly the same.

I'll just come right out and say it - 猫 are a HUGE part of why I 爱情 cozies so much. I was born a crazy cat lady and I will die a crazy cat lady, so anything to do with felines I'm in! And 猫 are a staple within the genre. 动物 are in general and I do admit I 爱情 them with 狗 as well but there seem to be 更多 猫 on covers than anything. (I mean 给 the demographic, who is surprised?) But not only are 猫 a big selling point just being on the cover, but there are series with 猫 as the main voice, and ones that center solely on cats. These furry 天使 rule the genre!

Anyone who tells 你 they don't like puns are not to be trusted. This is a fact. The cozy genre has totally reinvented punny book titles they have made it into an art form. Truly. Many of them will have something to do with the theme of the series (Tressed to Kill being the 标题 of a beauty 商店 series), while others will be 更多 just for fun and have nothing to do with the book whatsoever. For me, a great 标题 will make me even 更多 inclined to pick the book up if I wasn't otherwise interested. The 更多 I groan at how punny it is, the 更多 likely it's going in my cart.

Yes, of course I had to have a shallow option because what's an 文章 I create without mentioning how beautiful something is? But truly, the covers of 90% of cozies are just outstanding. Many, like I stated before, involving pets and if the series is based around a 商店 owner it will occasionally 显示 the interior of the store to give 你 somewhat of an idea of what it's like. Also often 展示 outside scenery as well, and nearly always including food. A really great cover will honestly 更多 often than not determine whether I will read it. I might be inclined to otherwise, but the covers give a bigger picture into the world the authors are 写作 about and I want to be there. I want to be curled up in front of the fireplace on 圣诞节 日 with warmth surrounding me. I want to relax at 首页 on my comfy 长椅, 沙发 with my fluffy cat surrounded 由 my mother's cross-stitch made from the heart. And I most definitely want to 商店 in a pet store made to look like a doghouse. THIS is the 面包 and 牛油, 黄油 of the genre. If an 作者 has a great artist for their series, they're set! 粉丝 want to be in the world shown on the cover. We want to pet furry animals, 商店 in quaint stores, and feel comforted in our cozy homes.
And lastly, but not least...
I 爱情 cozies because...they're just good.
I mean good. Really good. For me, cozies are not about NOT wanting to hear about gore 或者 sex 或者 anything overly violent. Because I'm a horror movie connoisseur and the 更多 over the 最佳, 返回页首 gory they are, the better! Clearly I don't mind any of those things. Like I stated above, it's about wanting to be in that environment. There's something about escaping the real world for awhile to escape to a 更多 simple and warm time. A cozy time where 你 grew up in a small town where everyone knew everyone, and all the shops on main 街, 街道 were not chains but locally owned family stores, and all your 老友记 and family supported 你 and got 你 through the day. Yes, there's murder in cozies but the bigger picture is the simple life that is behind the scenes. At least for me. I live vicariously through all my 最喜爱的 heroines in the books. They're strong, they're likeable, they're highly intelligent, and they have got enviable lives.
And THAT is why I 爱情 cozy mysteries.
