what purpose do 猫 have whiskers for?

So, they can find their way around in the dark. Their whiskers acts as "feelers" so, they can feel where their going.

猫 whiskers are like fingers only for 猫 so they can walk aroung in the dark and get a sense of what is around them, and to balance. If 你 cut a 猫 whiskers off then they wont be able to walk right 或者 at all depending on how much someone cuts off

They also helps them to keep their balance! so when clipping your long haired cat's fur,Do not clip the whiskers!

They have whiskers for Smelling their food, I guess..

Whiskers on a 猫 face is for sensing their surroundings in the dark and feeling for heat. Ever notice the whiskers on their feet, behind their paws? Those are for when they jump, to feel if they are landing 或者 not and if the surface is hot.

Cat's whiskers are very sensitive. They can establish how wide a gap is, and whether they'll fit through it 由 using their whiskers. This is why most 猫 have really long whiskers, longer than their body width.However, this does not help if a cat lowers herself rump first into a gap, as my cat girl did,and then finds she is too broad in the beam to get out of 说 gap 由 herself!

They have whiskers to tell distances I think. I don't know who though!

And I also read that the cat's whiskers are as long as how wide the cat it. So maybe so they can see where they can fit in and where they can't.
