Typical kittie mess, should I say !
Try to remove the paste with a cloth first. Then to make sure it's all gone, give a gentle 淋浴 to your pet, lukewarm temperature, to rinse off the rest of the paste. No shampoo, just running water. Once you're done, dry him with thorough massaging the hair and keep the cat inside time for the 毛皮 to dry up.
I do that to my cat regularly to remove dust from his hair (he's a half-blood Siberian). I prepare several towels (the cat's towels) to dry him up as much as possible.
