Sometimes, like McKinley's ditziest cheerleader and New Directions performer Brittany, we all forget our middle names. So, it's no surprise that Heather Morris, who plays "Glee's" attention-grabbing blond Cheerio, is getting 更多 time to shine this season. In an upcoming episode, she hangs out with another famous Brit (That's Spears, suckers!). We grilled Morris about the new season and her homage to a pop icon.
» EXPRESS: Brittany has gone from a minor character to a regular cast member. What will we learn about her in future episodes?
» MORRIS: For starters, 你 learn her last name. We've never known Brittany had a last name, but we do find out. And she actually gets to sing.
» EXPRESS: Have 你 ever thought about Brittany's backstory?
» MORRIS: We joke around about it. [Co-creator] Ryan [Murphy] and Naya [Rivera, who plays Santana] and I talk about how Brittany's parents are probably astronauts. We pretend that her family is the smartest family and we don't know where Brittany came from. But most of the time with stuff like that, I like to find out later on. 你 know what I mean? It's cool to read a script and find out about yourself instead of creating a whole story.
» EXPRESS: Would Brittany's personality change if she stopped being a blonde?
» MORRIS: That's a good point. I think it could, possibly. I could see maybe that she dyes her hair and because she dyes her hair, it changes her personality completely. Ryan would 爱情 that. I should tell him about it.
» EXPRESS: What were 你 like in high school?
» MORRIS: Oh, gosh. I've always been an outgoing performer. I was a dancer in high school, and I was 老友记 with everybody at school, but I didn't hang out with anybody after school because I danced too much.
» EXPRESS: What 建议 do 你 have for high school outcasts?
» MORRIS: I would say the perfect example of a high school outcast is all of us actors on the show. I feel like once 你 find out what 你 爱情 to do, you'll be comfortable no matter where 你 are.
» EXPRESS: Everyone’s buzzing about how Brittany sings Britney Spears in the Sept. 28 episode. Did 你 do any special training for that?
» MORRIS: [A vocal coach] worked with me a couple times on vocal training and understanding my voice. But I just kept listening to [Spears’] song over and over again to know every detail about it and literally just copy her.
» EXPRESS: Who are the actors that 你 look up to?
» MORRIS: There's too many. I don't know. I 爱情 every actor, literally. I just 爱情 movies. My roommate and I watch loads of 电影院 every day. I 爱情 Dakota Fanning 更多 than life. I'm such a big 粉丝 because she's so young and has it all together.
» EXPRESS: What's your 最喜爱的 movie?
» MORRIS: That's hard. I like "Atonement" a lot. It's one of my favorites. And I'm a big 粉丝 of "Lord of the Rings." I always have been.
» EXPRESS: You've had so many great guests on Glee. Who would 你 most like to have on the show?
» MORRIS: I really want Kristen Wiig to come on. I 爱情 her so much. I think she's hysterical, I can't stop watching her on Hulu. I would die if she came on and just did something — even if she didn't sing.
