My fellow writer and Blujesto Press 作者 Lucretia Mars discusses her new Kindle book series, GASPERS, starting off with a trilogy that is, in may ways, too hot to publish. She and Blujesto are presenting new and innovative ways of getting his controversial work to the public.

Q: Lucretia, tell us a bit about your new Kindle ebook series, GASPERS.
A: GASPERS is a kinky, erotic novel series with a crime story subplot. 或者 else it’s a crime series with a kinky, erotic subplot. They’re pretty well balanced.
Q: I don’t mean to pigeon-hole it, but it’s a bit like FIFTY SHADES OF GREY, with asphyxia instead of bondage.
A: No, I’ll buy that. I mean, these days, bondage itself is kind of vanilla, kind of mainstream. I mean, it’s common on primetime TV, how taboo could it be? Erotic asphyxia is much 更多 complex, much 更多 fringe. And it integrates perfectly to the sex-crime aspect.
Q: Somebody’s going around smothering women.
A: Well, that is putting it a bit simply. In the first book the focus is on a dominant / submissive sexual balance with the woman in the sub role, and from the point of view of the protagonist, Kaylee St. Claire, it’s all consensual. Then the murders happen. The 秒 book concentrates on the balance of power shifting to a female dominant and a male sub, which is quite common in the world of erotic asphyxia. I think it’s much 更多 prevalent to see women choking and smothering men than men smothering women.
Q: What about the third book?
A: I’ve been asked not to talk too much about the third book right now.
Q: Blujesto Press is planning a new kind of release strategy for that book.
A: That I can confirm. The way it’s going to go is that the first two 图书 each contain half of a special code. A reader who buys both 图书 can send in the complete code and they get the third book for free, direct from the publisher.
Q: Can’t 你 just give 图书 away for free through Kindle?
A: Blujesto doesn’t want to do it that way. I’ll be able to talk a little 更多 about it when the 秒 and third 图书 come out. The third will be available as soon as the 秒 book hits the market, but I’m not sure if that will be 下一个 月 或者 later in the summer.
Q: It’s pretty mysterious.
A: It is. Neat, huh?
Q: Now, the first two 图书 were originally released in paperback as GASPING IN THE SHADOWS. Why the change?
A: When Blujesto bought the rights, they decided to cut the first book, which was already structured in a Book 1, Book 2 manner, and make them separate books. When I pitched them Book 3, they concocted this new marketing strategy. Then they decided to re-brand the whole thing and change the title. I guess the people who bought it in paperback have a nice collector’s item!
Q: Some say that Book 3 is just too filthy to publish.
A: I can’t 评论 on that kind of idle gossip. It is pretty filthy though.
Q: After that, are 你 going to 移动 ahead with the GASPERS series?
A: We’ve discussed other places the series can go, and there are plenty. But my immediate plans are for a new series for Blujesto, a horror series. We’re locked in for three 图书 this summer and maybe three 更多 after that. As with your Kindle series, THIS YOUNG JESUS, every three volumes will be released as a collected volume, in Kindle and on paperback. I actually have the 秒 three stories planned too, for a total of six novellas, two compiled volumes. That would take me through the end of 2013, basically. After that, we’ll see about 更多 GASPERS books.

Hi everyone!

I just want to say enough already. We have determined again and again that Vampire and Twilight 爱人 comprise maybe a little less than half of the members who are answering these questions. I say we just give it a rest now. We don't need any 更多 picks about whether 你 爱情 或者 hate vampires, which is the best vampire series, 或者 any other opportunities for fighting over an issue that's at a standstill.
Now I have read Twilight and am not a fan, though I will admit they are addicting while 你 read them. I have 说 how I feel about the books, the writing, the characters and all...

Sometimes it's great to be a bookseller.

B.E.A. (which I didn't go to, alas) has passed and our book buyers have come back with some great ARCs in their suitcases and begun to share the book love. The eagerly-awaited 秒 book to The Hunger Games is in my hands, as well as Jeannette Wall's new "true-life novel". I was also happily surprised 由 a new book in a new series 由 Cinda Williams Chima, 作者 of the Heir trilogy (The Warrior Heir; The Wizard Heir; The Dragon Heir). All three are fantastic -- y'all should pick them up come Autumn 2009!

2006, 172 pages

I know the 标题 may make 你 smile and giggle. I did too when it was introduced to me as a gift when I was studying for my master’s degree in psychology in 2001. And what a gift! I am since happily involved in human resources for a law firm employing over 600 people, including 250 lawyers. Over 600 very different human beings with very different ways of thinking, but 600 very different human beings all living for the same purpose: make the best out of everything life gave to each and everyone of them – creativity and courage –...

Daniel Goleman, 1996, 288 pages

A penetrating analysis of the dark corners of human deception, enlivened 由 intriguing case histories and experiments – It was written for the professional, yet is understandable 由 the layman as well because it is so well and clearly written. This is a great book for coaches, counsellors, and therapists working with individuals that are grieving 或者 dealing with past issues. I found the book to be helpful in explaining why so many of the people I coach seem to have denied 或者 repressed very emotionally traumatic incidents. The human mind is amazing and complex....
