How old is 'too old' for Young Adult books?

Honestly there really isn't a thing as "too Old" if 你 enjoy a book 或者 just find it interesting no one is going to stop 你 and tell 你 你 can't read it. I have a collection of 图书 I loved as a pre-teen and sometimes when I'm in the mood for a light read, 或者 I just crave a good familiar story I read them. My younger sister finds it great that she can hand me 图书 she just read so I can read them and talk about them with her

So to sum it up, if 你 enjoy a story read it, forget the age group...oh and wasn't harry potter a Young Adult book? :P

I don't think there is a maximum age, for instance, the Harry Potter series may be considered "Children's" 或者 "Young Adult" books, but they are read (and loved) 由 all ages. However, unless a kid has a 更多 advanced 阅读 level, then I think nine is the minimum age. Some Young Adult 图书 have content that is mostly for teenagers, but I (as well as some people I know) was 阅读 some YA 图书 at nine and ten.

Never...they just put that label to say it's sutable for YA and up... it's not fair that adults can't read particular 图书 because they are 'too old'

I believe that any adult can share in the joy and experience of losing yourself in a good book; whether it's a young adult novel 或者 not.
Young adult novels usually revolve around themes that attract the tween/teen ages, but this does not mean that these themes do not also attract adults, too.
I am a person considered of young adult age. If I find a really good young adult novel, I lend it to my mother (who is a very picky critic I might add), and she usually enjoys it. My mother is 46 years old.
In conclusion, there is no such thing as "too old" for a book. However, there is such a thing as "too young" for a book, as some 图书 involve complex themes that younger children might not understand 或者 these themes would frighten them.

As a simple answer to your question: no one is too old for young adult.

I'm 25 who was working at a bookstore for the past several years and I really came to realize that while I did read 'adult' non-fiction, I turned to the YA department for my fiction reads. I think that YA (older readers, middle school, high school) 图书 are typically the best of all fiction -- very imaginative and willing to create new worlds 或者 rediscover old WITHOUT feeling the need to throw overly dramatic romances to 'liven' up the story. That's not to say romance isn't appreciated (Bella & Edward, Ron & Hermonie) but YA doesn't include ridiculous soft-core porn scenes ala "The Clan of the Cave Bear" 或者 Danielle Steel's works.

So all in all, I don't consider YA to be 'children's books'. If someone says 'children's books' I point them to the picture books. But YA is for everyone, young and old.
