Now, what has to be one of the most insulting moments in 日本动漫 history. Maybe its poor english voice acting, pathetic censorship, 或者 maybe its the god awful theme songs they add. But, what if they took all those awful things and put them together. Well, thats 4Kids for you.
Now, 4Kids was a channel that was to host 日本动漫 for kids. Sadly, most of the shows were pretty violent, especially One Piece. So, instead of just putting them for a 更多 mature audience. They censored out EVERYTHING!!! Literally, everything. All the blood and death was gone, pistols and rifles were turned into hammers 或者 just some of the most pathetic firearms anyone has even seen. And, what I feel is the dumbest, is text. Yes, they get rid of text. Fell, sometimes, the text is in English, but still, they get rid of it. Seriously, why have these signs with no words on it. That's like having an N64, but 你 only have Sega Dreamcast games, which were discs, and N64 took cartridges. And, if that's not bad enough, sometimes, these things they censored out were important to the story. So, great work, $Kids, 你 fucked up the episodes plot.
Oh, but it only gets worse and worse. Since they didn't seem to like the original music, they changes all the songs to these pathetic theme songs. What really makes my blood boil is that they took the Japanese theme song from One Piece, "We Are", which my 最喜爱的 song from the One Piece soundtrack and turned it into this generic rap song. Are 你 fucking serious.
Oh, but, that's not all. If it weren't bad enough, we had to get one of the dumbest uses of censorship ever. Either the guys at 4Kids have xenophobia 或者 are extremely racist, because they wanted every 日本动漫 to have nothing to do with Japan. Hell, one of there shows, Tokyo Mew Mew, had the capital of 日本 in the title, and it was changed to Mew Mew Power.... Pathetic. Hell, not even shows that were meant for kids were 安全 from the censorship, as even Pokemon, a 显示 aimed at kids, was censored, as all the 白饭, 大米 balls, which is a delicacy in Japan, was replaced with sandwiches and donuts.... For fucks sake. Was that really necessary. And, let me remind you, they censored this from Pokemon. They were okay with cute 动物 fighting each other, but were not okay with a ball of fucking rice. For fucks sake.
Oh, but, if 你 think they couldn't bend over 日本动漫 粉丝 and fuck them harder then they already had, then I have a surprise for you.... its as much of a surprise as when 你 find your house on 火, 消防 after leaving to get milk. So, on 4th of July, 2006, it was revealed that 4Kids took all the 日本动漫 characters from the channel, including Sonic X, Mew Mew Power, and, yes, even One Piece, to sing........ The national anthem......... Oh god......... This has to be the biggest insult to 日本动漫 fans. I mean, really. This is rock bottom. This is pure grade A failure. This has to sin. It has to be. It is just awful, in every way. It took what made these shows great, and fucked it all up.
Thank God that another 日本动漫 holder came by, known as Toonami. This did what 4Kids failed HORRIBLY to do. It made the 日本动漫 shown on it for mature audience. And, it has all sorts of amazing anime. Bleach, Naruto, Cowboy Bebop, Gurren Lagann, Hellsing Ultimate, 太空 Dandy, and even One Piece. They made One Piece great again (I was literally so happy, I could cry) And, also, the internet came along to help out greatly with giving 日本动漫 to the mature audience, which should have been done in the first place.
So, after words, 4Kids went into obscurity and the disappeared. I hear that they changed the company name and is still thriving to this day, but, I just hope they never touch another 日本动漫 ever again.
