Protagonist means the main character, so Light is indeed the protagonist. He is not the antagonist. The antagonist is the one who goes up against the main character, which means l is an antagonist, not Light.

Yes, that is true. However, even though Light is the main character, he is the total opposite of a good guy, which would be l :P

well protagonist don't have to be thr good guy and the antagonist doesn't have to be the bad guy. Whoever the main character is is always the protagonist.
