Because who doesn't secretly dream of turning super saiyan?

I am going to say Sailor Moon and 悟空 because both of them pretty much pioneered the way for their genres.
悟空 for shounen 日本动漫 and Sailor Moon for magical girl anime.Those characters are extremely popular.

But there's really a myriad of 流行的 日本动漫 characters. Too numerous to name all of them.

I think Edward Elric has a bunch of fans.

He's goofy and serious enough to win over 粉丝 who like goofy characters and also serious characters.

I haven't seen many haters when it comes to Ed. Especially considering he's the main character, and many people seem to dislike the main character from the action/adventure genre. Would say he's an exception to that, making him really 流行的 in the 日本动漫 community.
